Trump wins over Biden in NBC poll for the first time, as president’s approval craters to new low

Sure, you can all point to polls which are an indicator of a snapshot in time with nothing bound to real life. I choose to look at results. And the Republican Party is in deep do do.

Haha! When will you realize that Trump transcends regular politics. People are shallow and obsessed with celebrities and Trump has a large contingent of shallow people that vote for him and could care less about conventional politics or voting in off year elections. Winning referendums on abortion in an off year election means nothing. Trump is an entirely different animal.

Even shallow celebrity obsessed idiots are apparently aware and pissed off enough to come out and squash the fools that think they can just take important rights away with no consequences.

Please nominate Trump. Democratic landslide.

Personally I love biden. Don’t think there’s anyone younger and more capable out there at the moment.

If a bunch of ignorant snowflakes are whining about how hard we are on Hamas and osama bin Laden, let them vote for trump. They’ll reap what they sow.

Off year elections? Was 2020 an off year? Trump’s followers aren’t enough. He’s been losing support and elections since he was nominated. And the consequences of Roe are only getting worse, not better.

I’m not saying it’s a slam dunk but I’d rather be a Biden than Trump.

+100. What's the plan if Trump is unable to run? Junior seems to think he's heir apparent. What a joke that will be.

Polls have also shown that the incumbent POTUS can be behind and still win.

+1

For the incumbent president to lose, you’d need a *major* economic, foreign policy or domestic crisis. And probably a combination of at least two. GDP is strong, the unemployment rate is low and inflation is trending downward. Nobody has to wear masks at the grocery store any more. And say what you will about Ukraine and Israel, but not one American soldier has died in those conflicts. From that vantage point, Biden is going to be very hard to beat.

Cough cough Bush the Elder cough cough.

And he wasn't as unpopular or hated as Biden was. And far more popular than Biden was at his peak.

As it is, I'm amused at younger voter's disapproval of Biden over Israel and Gaza. What are they going to do? Turn to Turnip? Who is staunchly pro Israel.

As PP said, Trump is not 1992 Bill Clinton. Plus Republicans were going for their 4th straight win in 1992, when winning the presidency 3 times in a row is damn near impossible.

Good point. Responding to a poll is a cost-free way to vent your frustration. Definitely not the same as casting an actual ballot. People understand this.

Again, Trump’s fans didn’t come out for these elections because Trump wasn’t on the ballot. All they care about is Trump, not elections where policies are on the ballot.

Trump barely lost in 2020 despite the country being ravaged by a pandemic and Facebook and Twitter suppressing a major October surprise in the form of the Hunter Biden laptop story that would have swayed a 2-5% of the same kinds of apolitical, shallow voters had it been allowed to get the same kind of platforming and amplification that a similar story about a seedy, sex and drug filled laptop owned by Don Jr would have gotten. To barely lose an election with all the forces working against him is an impressive political feat.

Now you have to make $400,000 to afford a SFH within the Beltway because of 8% rates, eggs are $5 a carton, and there are two wars raging and people are uneasy. Trump is leading in polls he was losing handily in with the same lead time before the 2020 election. If you are confident Biden is winning in 2024 you are drinking some strong Kool Aid.

No longer in the race. Dummy.

Sounds like the congresscritter is afraid of the American process.

Any US Presidential candidate who is pro Israel will now lose. Being pro Israel is now a liability. This is what happens when you support a rogue terrorist state like Israel.

Then that is both of the likely candidates

So both Trump and Biden are going to lose? What planet are you living on?

Or another way to look at it: Despite an onslaught of negative news stories from all directions, and without any campaigning whatsoever, Biden is still essentially tied with Trump. At best, Trump is up by 1-2 points in meaningless polls his supporters are eager to participate in.

People are sick and tired of mass illegal immigration and Biden’s insane open borders policies. Biden and the democrats have allowed crime to explode and criminals to have free rein.

Lol, and Biden lied to you all about student loans. Liberals also hate how he supports Israel. And everyone hates how old he is. No one wants a gerontocracy except boomers and the silent generation.

But first and foremost is the inanity of our open borders.

Two wars and massive inflation don't help either.
