Yep. Many of us have watched our previously sane parents turn absolutely bat$hit.

This one has been difficult indeed. Fox and similar have melted a lot of parents’ and grandparents’ brains. The 24 hour news cycle is bad, but there’s nothing on the left like the purity of message on the right and Fox and destroyed people.

One needs only to read the comments provided by right wingers to see it in action. They’re ignoring news of price fixing and gouging pretty hard. Just like they’ll ignore that online Black Friday shopping was up over 5%. https://www.axios.com/2023/11/24/black-friday-sales-cyber-monday-2023-spending

In all probability, the GOP will lose in 2024, and it’s down entirely to abortion and the specter of fascism that outlawing abortion raises. Republicans can get angry on here and make weird sad claims, but… they have a mouthful of bumper on the abortion issue. In the “f around and find out,” they’re sliding down the hill into “find out.”

For the incumbent president to lose, you’d need a *major* economic, foreign policy or domestic crisis. And probably a combination of at least two. GDP is strong, the unemployment rate is low and inflation is trending downward. Nobody has to wear masks at the grocery store any more. And say what you will about Ukraine and Israel, but not one American soldier has died in those conflicts. From that vantage point, Biden is going to be very hard to beat.

Have you been living under a rock? We have had this already with Biden’s inflation exploding costs for everything.

Inflation’s going down, my friend. I know that makes you sad but it’s the reality.

Most things cost substantially more today than they did when Biden was inaugurated and wages have not kept pace. You can try to explain it away but anyone who goes grocery shopping knows it.

It sounds like you think the president just decides that things should cost more.

Rounds of stimulus checks followed by $1 trillion in infrastructure spending as inflation was rising. Economists were screaming that it was inflationary, but the administration argued that inflation was transitory. Everyone not invested in build back better passing saw this coming and said so at the time

Criminals who stole PPP money aside, people spent that money which improves the economy.

Should we let our infrastructure crumble? When should we pay for it?

Corporate profits at all time highs the past few years - maybe you need to direct some of your anger towards companies taking advantage the opportunity to excuse their price increases.

Biden should run on an 'inflation was necessary' platform. I'm sure it will go great

His "build back better" was so close to "make america great again." Not sure how everyone was ok with that so maybe 'inflation was necessary' would work lol.

I guess if you don’t understand implications and historical parallels. But that’s a you not reading enough issue, not a Biden issue.

The Democrats are going to learn a very painful lesson next November if they waste this primary process and re-nominate Biden. They should be looking at other candidates and seeing how they stack up against Biden, not just give him incumbent deference.

You laugh, but the facts matter. The US economy and inflation are MUCh better than any other western industrialize country. So clearly something happened in the US that didn't happen in other countries. That thing is the Build Back Better bill, which became law and has turned into a lot of production in our country.

And the difference between BBB and MAGA is that MAGA is a slogan, whereas BBB was a bill. One is words, the other is action.

I am truly sorry you don't know the difference.

I guess you didn't get the part that as the world climbed back from COVID, inflation was a part of the deal and it is worse in every other country than in the United States...AND, the inflation rates have been coming down, and the Fed will most likely be reducing the interest rates in 2024 in reaction. In other words, an economic "soft landing" as long as the GOP doesn't do stupid things like close the government down or mess with the debt ceiling. Every time the GOP does that, it costs the US Economy money and jobs.

Nope build back better all rides to crumbling infrastructures that badly needed to be rebuilt - and relationships with allies that were damaged by Trump

Make America great again referred to white nationalist agenda of exploiting white middle America’s fear of social changes and demonizing immigrants from Central America/ Asia and POC plus Muslims/ non white non Christians.

American economy was strong after Obama years - it was in the black but rapidly accrued massive debts under his stupid tax changes .he bankrupted America just as he bankrupted how own businesses many times. He inflated the value of his properties and business to avoid taxes for many years. The only people who would loan to him were Putin and Russian oligarchs so that they could manipulate him to amplify their self interested talking points .sonhe managed to compromise national security due to his terrible business practices and lack of judgment.

He is an empty vessel that makes a lot of ugly sounds and has no business acumen.

Trump turned out to be right about the swamp being stupid and corrupt.

He was the murkiest most compromised
Creature in the swamp

Populists always argue they are outside the swamp To curry favor favor with disaffected voters. Just like the ones who promise to step down after one term - they rarely do.

Trump abused the checks and balances on democracy for his own purposes over and over again - and continues to do so. He now has over 90 felony indictments, tens of thousands of proven lies and continues his base lies lies about losing 2020 election in order to avoid the jail time he likely faces.

Everything he touches turns to ruin - many people he has worked with face jail time themselves for enabling his illegal abuses of power.

The swamp hates Trump. They are in full corrupt attack mode and are losing. Trump has exposed the rot and has outsmarted them. They have no moves that don’t empower Trump and weaken them.

Yikes. Are you blaming Biden for his son's cancer and death? Sicko.

Also you know that money buys entrance to elite schools, don't you. Just goes to show what an elitist Trump is.

Biden's children are paying price for Biden's sins. The entire family is a dysfunctional disaster. I am so sorry for what his daughter and son has to go through now and still puzzled how Biden can think that all that money worth what he did to his children. By your logic, why the same money that bought entrance to elite schools for Trump's children, didn't do anything good to Biden's children?

Good point - one more piece of evidence that billionaire Trump has nothing in common with the vast majority of MAGA sycophants he cultivates ..,

I voted for Trump and my kids was accepted to three ivy schools and four other elite schools in US.
