Why do old people like pie?

My 17DS loves pie. Homemade or store bought. Doesn’t matter. With ice cream or without. Just get him some pie.

No, cake is king. Pie is what you eat when there is no cake.

Why are some of you people settling for crap pie crust? Crispy, flaky, and fabulous -- that's a pie crust.

Flaky and crispy is still soft. Easy for old people to eat. Are you eating crunchy pies?

What dessert do you think is difficult to eat, by this standard?

Old people like pie because they only had homemade pie when they were younger and it's a nostalgia thing. A homemade pie with an excellent crust cannot be beat. I didn't like pie at all until I met my husband who bakes them from scratch. Now I'm addicted. Store bought pie is garbage - even from the specialty places.

I also love cake.

No one in my immediate family likes fruit pies. Maybe we are eating crappy pies. I end up tossing some after thanksgiving.

A swing and a miss, OP. What an odd try at making old people look bad.

No child likes pie. Put a pie next to a cake, and I bet most children wouldn’t even look at the pie.

I do think the older someone is, the more likely they would like pie.

The only pie I get excited about is key lime. Everything else is so bleh.

Who actually buys a store bought pie?

I’m sorry but this is a stupid observation.

😀😀😀

Everybody likes pie!!

And what's up with this "old people" qualifier? You sound like a 13-year-old, to whom everyone over seventeen is "old."

It’s a troll.

+1. "My parents/ILs/grandparents do X. Why do ALL parents/ILs/grandparents do X?"

Pie is delicious. I like fruit ones the best, but nut or custard is also good.
I’m only early 50s.

+1. I rarely bake from scratch anymore. Cookies, cakes, breads and pies are bought. We even have favorite bakeries!
