Why should we take in Venezuelans?

Sure, you’re more than welcome to come. Wait in line like everyone else!

What line? There is no line to wait in. The process starts when you cross the border.

Venezuelans, Argentinians, Brazilians, Chileans are not soft and fuzzy liberals. Opening up the border to Venezuelans brings no long term political gains for Democrats. It's a gift to the Republican Party. Like Cubans.

It’s no gift for us. Trust me.

I want a big beautiful, brown america! Let them in! Let freedom ring.

Like the white conservative Christian family from Germany who just walked in with no permission and then sought asylum on the ground that they were persecuted in Germany because they were required to send their kids to school (any school, including private Christian schools). They did not wait in line and now they dont want to leave

Open borders are not immigration.

If we had open borders, we wouldn't be making so many arrests.

Those entering illegally are not being arrested. They are being processed then bused to the city of their choice.
That, my dear, is an open border.

Yet, Biden is granting TPP status to over 700,000 Venezuelans. And, he doesn't think this will be a magnet for more to come?
These people are leaving their socialist "utopia" for which they voted.

NP. I fully agree that we shouldn't and that economic migration is not a reason to grant asylum. But with respect to TPP, I'm not sure what else Biden was supposed to do. I live in NYC and we've had an influx of Venezuelans who are now wards of the city, and NYC taxpayers are paying for their basic needs, shelter, etc. (at the price of cuts to city services). If they can't work, taxpayers have to care for them.

This is all part of Biden's plan. Open the border to millions, fly or bus them to cities around the country, then grant them temporary status.
You think these people will ever leave?

How many times do you have to be told that apprehensions are not arrests and do not result in anything other than the people being released into the US. Except if by some miracle considering the chaos they appear on a terrorist watch list and are caught.

So propose legislation that doesn't involve separating families or shooting them at the border, or building a useless "wall" across the entire Mexican border. Better yet, propose legislation that *guarantees* jail time for anyone HIRING undocumented immigrants. The GOP has had innumerable chances to reform immigration but the simple fact of the matter is that it's far too valuable as a political wedge issue.

So you want them to come? Because this is their line. This is how it works.

Gaming the asylum system is a joke and a sham. Wait in line like everyone with UCIS. There are many fees and months/years of waiting. Not just waltzing in and making a flimsy ‘asylum’ claim.

OP, the border is open for everyone to come. I do not think it will change in near future. Besides, some democrats have these yard signs “no human is illegal” in their lawns. No one wants to solve the border. In fact it would be considered racist if someone actually wants to fix it. They will also make up stories how border patrols are whipping people, not giving water to migrants and God knows what.

US is a country of immigrants. Whether yellow, brown or white. You can talk about limiting and improving immigration policies but ruling out Venezuela is neither here nor there.

Haha, so Republicans just think asylum policies are bullshit. That's the crux of their whining.

You clearly don't know anything about asylum laws but haha away while you expose your ignorance.
