Excuses. What are you gonna say when they cause an accident or get run over?

Why do you make excuses for unlicensed businesses dodging taxes? You are part of the problem for why this region is turning into the 3rd world. Why should a legitimate business obey by all of the laws and regulations for where they can sell and pay taxes while these illegal vendors dodge paying their fair shares of taxes to the state and govt?

I'm going to say that you, as a driver, have a legal obligation to exercise due care not to hit people, and as part of that legal obligation, you, as a driver, should not be driving that fast through intersections.

Lmao, so when is it legal for a de facto pedestrian or street vendor to be in the middle of the road during a green light?

You as a driver have a legal obligation to exercise due care not to hit people even when you have a green light. Decent human beings do their best not to hit other people, irrespective of what the other people are doing.

Decent human beings with common sense who obey our laws pay taxes and don’t stand in the middle of busy roads while there are green lights.

You're not in charge of what they do. You are in charge of what you do. That's a basic lesson from preschool.

The law is in charge of what you do, dimwit. That’s also a basic lesson from preschool.

It’s illegal to panhandle at intersections. It is illegal to dodge taxes. It is illegal to run a business without a license.

Are you the law?

Where I live, it is not illegal to panhandle at intersections, and whether or not a business needs a license depends on the type of business; some businesses do not need a license.

Is it unlawful to block traffic? To jaywalk? To create unreasonable hazards? Because it’s not about panhandling. Or poverty. It’s about rules of general application. Pedestrians have no business in the road.

OP I will die with you on this hill. Throw them all in jail.

AND YES, I ALSO DISLIKE LEMONADE STANDS although I’m willing to let that one go.

What a bunch of miserable wealthy people picking on people with far less. Talk about punching down. Jail? Confiscate their money? WTF?!

I prefer the flower vendors to the straight up beggars and those people supposedly collecting money for animal rescue.

If I'm the first car, and the light turns green, do you agree that I can move forward even if someone refused to move away from my window?

I dare you to drive in downtown Atlanta and be at a stoplight with water boys, flower vendors, and folks spraying window cleaner on your windshield. Many of them do not get out of the way. They are fully aware of what they're doing.

No, of course you shouldn't do that. Good grief. You don't get to run people over just because the light turned green.

More than anything, I worry that many of them are not out there by choice.
Any idea who runs the groups selling flowers?

This is a big concern with DC's new street vending laws brought to us by Nadeau. Who is to say they are there voluntarily, compensated fairly, etc.

Of all the issues I see and experience while driving in this area, the flower sellers and intersection panhandlers are not at the top of my list. Not even my top 5.

I always wonder what else those vendors are distributing.

Yes, this is my question too. When I lived in Denver it was well known that the flower salesmen in my neighborhood were distributing crack

New in Merrifield, VA the mosaic area: grocery carts turned on the side with a pillow atop and sign attached. This is a placeholder for the regular panhandlers. Oh-and a pile of trash in around and under the cart and median.

We need bushes or other landscaping on these berms to prevent hoard storage and the panhandlers having a runway.

And don’t forget those lazy firefighters with that stinky boot shoved in your face.

This isn’t Denver. You can buy crack from the guy openly selling crack. Nobody is wasting time and money buying flowers and standing around Rockville just to sell crack. SMH

How dare they delay you by 30 seconds just so they can do something as selfish as scrape out a meager existence.

You don't think they'd rather be doing literally anything else? You're a monster. A ghoul. I hope you miss every green light from now until you die.
