What part of the question posted did you not understand? We moved to Loudoun County to avoid Yorktown's culture. Also, North Arlington is a cesspool. Much nicer out here. Better schools, too. |
Where is "Loudon" County? |
Way TF out there. |
Where, exactly? I've never heard of "Loudon" County. To what are you referring? |
What was upsetting for me were the minority student accounts of verbal and emotional abuse/harassment at Yorktown (back in fall 2016). I remember one student in particular who was in tears in front of the school board members (during the public comment period). |
W-L blows!! |
Except my child's W-L IB degree helped them get into UVa! That's not blowing |
Well you seem nice. I was asking what you were avoiding. The question asked about school culture, that's a pretty broad term. You said you moved to avoid "it." What was the "it"??? |
Makes sense, cause UVA blows! |
A couple dozen get into UVa from both Yorktown and W-L. You don't need an IB degree to get into UVa. I don't think W-L blows. I think W-L has gotten really huge and there aren't any additional extracurriculars/events offered when there are more kids. Something to think about at least. |
Ridiculous. It's not Maga-like at all. |
In fact, the admissions data published by Arlington magazine shows that exactly 10% of both W&L and YHS are admitted to UVA for the last five years consistently. |
There is another high school in arlington. |
?? Yes. In fact there are several other HS. So what? |
In LA? |
