| If people are scared of the bus, take a different road that time of day. |
I’ve lived in 4 states and moved between them five times. The only time I’ve been required to take a test was the very first. It’s normal. |
It's usually harder to see things when you're not looking. |
Then it’s good drivers are getting ticketed for their dangerous behavior on a street where there is a residence. Maybe that will get their attention. And thank you, OP, for raising awareness. Now if you and your nanny could just slow down and watch for school buses and children during the afternoon after-school hours, you won’t get another ticket. |
Me too. DC does not require anything besides proof of residency if the license is unexpired. |
So it is not residential except for the residences? |
|
Apparently, 85% of these tickets are going to other school bus drivers (who they probably can't fire because there's always a shortage):

"That tall retirement home thing" is not a retirement home. https://www.cparkre.com/the-kenwood-condos.php |
| You have to stop for school buses in both directions unless there is a median dividing a multiple lane road. Drivers Ed 101. I'd actually pay to see how many idiot drivers in the opposite lanes road rage at people stopped for a bus because they are unaware of the rule like an idiot. |
Sit in the lobby for an hour or too and tell us otherwise. Besides it’s a commercial zoned street that stretch. That half mile of RR is one 1950s retirement home, 6 gas stations, 1 tablets ice cream lotto stand, 1 plant shop, 1 building materials shop, 1 mcDonald’s, 1 mini mall w Chinese food, ice cream, Whole Foods, 1 private school teacher driveway, 1 storage facility, some truist office building and a side road containing 4 body shops and a couple car rentals. And a few cell towers to boot. |
The "retirement home" is not a retirement home, condo buildings are residential, and you need to stop for stopped school buses when you're driving. |
Many. No one is stopping on a multi-lane commuter road. Even other public school bus drivers in their yellow buses don’t stop for their fellow flashing light stop sign out buses. No one sees the little sign in the bright sun, drivers are too busy minding the crazy traffic and drivers pulling out every 10 meters. |
Wtf. Timely. No drafting other school buses, apparently they can break the law but your car will get nailed. |
The little sign is attached to a big orange bus with flashing lights. And most drivers aren't "commuting" at school bus drop-off times, they're just driving. |

Have you ever been on the NW DC, MoCo and beltway roads at 3pm? When students are dismissed and adults are racing home to pick them up or get them to sports or activities?
Rush hour is 3-7pm around here. Enjoy! |
