Chevy Chase Elementary School. If you clearly have absolutely no connection to the school, why do you care about the name of the sub, who has been fired by MCPS and will not be in other schools.

This is a school in a highly educated area and I am curious what the sub thought they could get away with….

It's pretty frustrating to have a kid at the school (who has had this sub) and to have no idea what occurred.

Depending on what occurred, I might want to have certain conversations with my kid -- either as general warnings or just to make sure nothing happened previously. Or is may be something that there is no need to address at all.

But, without having at least a general idea of what transpired, it is hard how to know how to parent and best support my kid.

I would suggest reaching out to parents at the school to find out more. Alternatively, if your child knows any 5th graders, they are all talking about it.

As the mother of a 4th grade CES student, I don't know that many people at the school and the people I have spoken to don't know anything. My kid didn't know anything, at least yesterday, maybe he will know more today.

If you find out, I hope you will come back and share the details. MCPS does not promote transparency and incidents like this are in the public interest.

+100

I don't have a kid at CCES, but I'm curious to know what it takes to be fired/escorted out like that in MCPS

If you know the 5th graders are talking about it, you presumably know what happened. Why not share it here?

This person could go sub in dc or pg county tho.

Or other MCPS school. Remember Pineda?

I would not assume that. She may have smacked a student, brought a weapon to school, been driving unsafely in the pickup area, left the classroom with no supervision while she went to a movie, …any number of things.

+1 or alcohol in a thermos

Or said something incredibly racist as happened to my older child in ES.

Well the letter specifically said that he was fired from MCPS.

And let's not pretend that any of us would, if given the name now, would remotely remember it if he happened to show up in some other school months or years down the line.
