The school sent out a letter tersely saying a (named in the letter) substitute would no longer be employed by MCPS and they take student safety seriously.
Anyone know what prompted the letter/dismissal? Sure seems like there is something specific behind it. |
| I read the same cryptic email and came here to find out the same. |
| That usually only means one thing: sexual assault. |
I would not assume that. She may have smacked a student, brought a weapon to school, been driving unsafely in the pickup area, left the classroom with no supervision while she went to a movie, …any number of things. |
| I got the letter, too. There was a line in there about providing "safety and positive experiences" for the kids, which made me think he did some risky/inappropriate but not sexual assault. Perhaps it was an issue of drug use/intoxication. |
He. |
| My kid said she had him as a sub and he was really nice, which of course doesn't preclude something bad having had happen. She knew that he had been fired, but didn't know why and -- gotta love elementary school students -- didn't seem to think anything had to be amiss by a teacher she liked being fired suddenly. |
Was he your child's sub today? Or just in the past? I love the innocence of a child! |
| Reach out to the 5th grade parents whose kids had him as a sub today. I’m not going to post details here, but it was really bad. |
Past. I hadn't assumed it was something today with him being carted out immediately, but I guess how knows. I was a little surprised she knew he had been fired at all, so maybe it was something that happened in a way to get peoples' attention. |
You really should post the details. Unfortunately, most of us don't know what to prepare our children for and some kids won't recognize bad behavior from an adult unless they are specifically forewarned. |
Then you're a troll. |
Who is the usual teacher? |
The 5th grade teacher (non-CES) who teaches math only. |
+1 or alcohol in a thermos |
