What would you bring to an appetizer/dessert party to share?

A crockpot of cocktail weenies in BBQ sauce and toothpicks. Easy peasy! You will bring home and empty crockpot!

Wheat thins and easy cheese! People love making designs!

So smelly, do not do this OP!

We make our own open faced in muffin tins. They are usually a hit!

People are getting silly now (not the spanakopita PP) but all those “1988” classics actually get eaten.

What about a fruit tray with a dip — went over well with a group I had over. Or cheese and crackers, shrimp and cocktail sauce, chips and dip, hummus and pita.

They do! No one cares if you are not Bree from Desparate Housewives or Martha Stewart

Hello 1988!!

Maybe, but I'd eat everything on that list and pretty much none of the other suggestions.

What *does* get eaten at your regular gatherings, OP?

For dessert ideas, I’d make smitten kitchen’s brown butter rice krispie treats and make them in a small pan so they are high and I’d cut them small - or, I’d get small clear plastic cups and put a layer of plain whole fat yogurt, then lemon curd and too with a few berries and crumbled granola or graham crackers.

You would serve yogurt as a dessert? I'm surprised nobody has thrown it at you.

Good question - is this a bunch of dieting middle aged ladies?

I'm the PP who asked and this, exactly. I once brought homemade cookies to a gathering like this and the other women were doing keto, so they went untouched. Among other groups of friends, they'd be scarfed down.

If that's the case, then bake one chicken leg per person and call that dinner.

Make a dessert platter with a chocolate/mint theme... I had friends over on Monday and made a platter with Peppermint Bark, Trader Joe's mini shortbread star cookies (dark chocolate covered), TJ's peppermint pretzels, etc... all things that were tiny/bite size so someone could take 1 (or 10) and no need to cut anything, nothing drips, etc. Leftovers can go back into Ziplock bags. No mess, everyone was happy and it looked really pretty because I put it on a platter like I would a cheese board.

Sounded delicious to me! I love lemon curd with it!
