Stabbing outside Giant at Cathedral Commons

Which of the jokers running against Bowser in the Democratic primary would have a better response to crime? Answer: none. They are all commited to policies that make it worse.

Agree. I have lived in DC for over 20 years. What a sh*tshow Bowser has been with zero viable alternatives. We finally decided to move after decades here. It’s just too much at this point.

Within eyeshot of the 2nd district station.

I’m going to guess that it is related to the homeless shelter that is also right next door to the police station.

There has been a series of violent incident at Cathedral Commons that never occurred before in that area.

It’s a nice legacy for Cheh to leave her constituents.

Crime in NW DC?? What is this world coming to???

Well, since the density folks promised "vibrancy" there is nothing wrong with questioning the blight we've gotten instead.

Well come on over to the debacle that is the Connecticut Ave. corridor. The panhandlers have to get up early to get a good spot on the CP commercial strip. It’s gotten so bad they’re now all over Van Ness. The smell of marijuana is all over. Mentally ill in all the buildings. But this is what equity looks like in practice. Instead of raising blighted areas in other parts of the city it’s easier, cheaper, and quicker to pull down the nice parts of the city. Please think carefully about who you bore for in November.

Yep, was there the other day and appalled. But who can we vote for. They are all the same..if you can identify candidates who aren't for ruining what still works instead of improving what doesn't, please do.

Because Republicans are hypocritical christo-fascists. Clean up your party first and maybe I'll give it another look.

m’k, keep drinking that kool aide and complaining that nothing changes. Rinse, repeat, and enjoy all the benefits of one-party rule by the most left candidates who win the primaries like you’re enjoying now.

This really says a lot more about you. Your assumption is both anecdotally and statistically wrong.

Don't you think you are being racist by assuming the homeless (or the unidentified stabbers) are of any specific race? I'm not the PP, but I have noticed an uptick in riff raff and panhandlers of all races on both Wisconsin and Connecticut. It would behoove residents to not give money to panhandlers and to call in tents and threatening or delusional behavior to 911 or non emergency 311, or the homeless wellness check number, depending on urgency. Residents have allowed folks to get comfortable with misbehaving on the thoroughfares.

I don't. I vote for anyone labeled republican in DC local elections, followed by any democrat or independent that is a centrist Tony Williams type. DC needs to change how it runs election for any of these to have a chance to win.

Poor black and brown voters suffer at the hands of good intentioned policies that reward criminal behavior. You can be fore police accountability AND want to enforce the law and have safe neighborhoods.

Safe schools and 'hoods should be for everyone, not just white people.

Mayor Bowser is not into defunding the police. She is very much pro-police. Where are you posting from, troll?

The Council is defunding police

Just goes to show you how bad Republicans look to people. I would have voted for a dead dog before I'd vote for Trump. The Republican party is filled with a bunch of lunatics. Whatever the Dems are dishing out, it's still better than the lunacy that is the Republican party. If you can't admit that....

I’m a dem who used to consider myself progressive. F trump, but also F woke liberals who are ruining our communities with ridiculous, backwards policies. I’m still a Democrat and would ever vote for a republican. That entire party is rotten. I’m open to independents.
