Well come on over to the debacle that is the Connecticut Ave. corridor. The panhandlers have to get up early to get a good spot on the CP commercial strip. It’s gotten so bad they’re now all over Van Ness. The smell of marijuana is all over. Mentally ill in all the buildings. But this is what equity looks like in practice. Instead of raising blighted areas in other parts of the city it’s easier, cheaper, and quicker to pull down the nice parts of the city. Please think carefully about who you bore for in November.

More going on than the shelter for families? Embry Rucker in Reston is by the police station and library in Reston Town Center. Takes individuals on a per night and drop in showrs etc plus families as per the website. 2021 guidestar for the 70 beds-most beds used by singles who did not progress to some other form of housing. I feel sorry for the kids and families.

Can't imagine they will last with those hours and that tucked away location. It's not that nice what they've built back there. Maybe they need to put some potted plants out or something - bit of a concrete canyon feel. We know densifiers love that aesthetic though.
