| Whenever this happens to me and I don’t get the package after the delivery confirmation, I ask for a refund because it was misdelivered and “that is not my doorstep in the picture”. Amazon has many pictures of my doorstep so they can verify it if necessary. Never had a problem with a refund. |
| This happened to me once with a sex toy…talk about super embarrassing |
He needs a spanking. |
You can report theft to police. Probably nothing they can do but you can show photo of delivery to neighbor and being told they don't have package Police might go next door and ask. If nothing else, it should give them a scare. |
Can you point to the post that answers how the driver has the access code to the neighbors locked porch/gate/whatever? I think we’ve already established that PP doesn’t live in an apartment. These are single family houses. |
I am with you PP. I order something and tell Amazon to open my gate with code 123. They mistakenly go to the wrong house and enter my code, it should not work. |
This is pretty funny. I could see this happening innocently at my house, as DH and I have different Amazon accounts and we sometimes open each other’s packages without realizing it. I did once accidentally misappropriate some neighbor’s package thinking It was DH’s. I’d been telling him I wanted some grill baskets for fish and vegetables, and a couple weeks later a package arrived with a fish basket. He was traveling at the time, and by the time he got home I wasn’t thinking about it. Several months of grilling later, I told him how grateful I was that he got it for me. He had no clue what I was talking about, and we both checked our order history and confirmed neither of us ordered it. Sorry neighbor, whoever you are! |
I agree too. Something is not right with this story. |
|
We get random stuff delivered sometimes. It happens rarely. I still have other people’s contacts, sneakers, random things.
If someone came to the door and asked Dh, he would not know. He would not be “stealing” anything. He just would be totally clueless. |

I'm completely shocked at how many of you are so ignorant. Amazon drivers have key fobs to get into locked doors or codes. This is how to get in:
Fob readers Call Boxes Remote openers Coded gates Motorized gates and doors https://www.amazon.com/b?node=18530497011 You all are just so stupid and ignorant! |
That is hilarious!!! Did you take the dirty wet towel back?! They had no shame handing it back to you? Some people! |
Still waiting for you to explain how the Amazon driver used OP’s code to access someone else’s porch. |
But these things would have to work at the WRONG HOUSE! |
| My neighbor did this and Amazon replaced. (Bizarrely it was baby bottles and my neighbor is a single childless elderly man but I’ve heard he’s a hoarder so maybe that’s why.) |

This happens a lot. More and more people are ordering online. You have to be patient when mistakes happen. No point getting upset.
In my case it's always when I order for some one else. I don't do Amazon, mistakes happen at every company, mostly with contract delivery people. I have never confronted a neighbor nor have I ever given an address where the mistake happened. I do a site chat, get it resolved and move on. I received a package for someone in the neighborhood a few blocks away. The company told me to keep it and sent the lady an email with a new order. I also got a gift card for being honest. When I opened the package it contained a pink golf glove, pink tees and pink golf balls. My cats love the balls. The airplane part mistakenly delivered was a bit freaky. The man got my crockpot. |
