breakfast for the last two years:
plain full fat yogurt + peanut butter, granola, fruit, (maybe chia seeds or coconut shavings). Filling, healthy, and delicious! |
|
Homemade strawberry, sour cherry, or quince preserve with or without sprinkle of granola.
Or as tzatziki, or just sprinkle with some olive oil & chili paste & eat it with pita bread as dip. |
| If you haven't tried cardamom, that's a favorite for me. |
| I use it in place of sour cream, so anything you’d do to sour cream (dips, etc). |
| So many things. Any fruit I have (cooked if not ripe), melted honey, granola, cucumbers mint and garlic, basil, basically anything |
|
So odd how many add peanut butter.
Doesn't it make for a weird texture? Do folks add it to plain yogurt (not the fruit kind, right? Isn't that a lot of sugar all at once? Do you not eat anything else for the rest of the day (protein in yogurt and protein in pb)? |
|
I’m down with all these suggestions except the peanut butter and the one with oranges. That’s one fruit that completely clashes with yogurt.
I love pb and I love yogurt. But together? Not for me. |
| Garlic powder/onion powder, pepper or any spice blend for a dip with veggies. Or garlic and cucumber and dill for tzatziki. Frozen blueberries and granola. Apples and cinnamon and vanilla. Frozen cherries. Just a little honey. Any kind of jam and cinnamon to mix in and use as a fruit dip. |
How much sugar do you think is in natural peanut butter? The ingredients are just peanuts, and sometimes salt. There's about 1 gram of sugar (simple carbs) in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. That's about as much as in 1/4 the average zucchini. I guess someone could look at that as a lot of sugar all at once, maybe if they had an eating disorder? |

Greek yogurt + honey + fruit (berries) + homemade granola
Been my goto snack for years |
+1 or Indian "pickle" they sell at the Indian store |
|
My daily breakfast is 3/4 cup plain full fat yogurt and a sprinkling of granola on top.
Going to try coconut yogurt this week and see how I like it. |
| Za'attar, chopped shallot. |
| Raisins, honey, roasted peanuts, topped off with toasted coconut. |
|
Salsa. And then I dip carrots in it. Or use it to dress taco salad. So good.
Also mix in chipotle peppers for a sauce on fish tacos Make a dip for pretzels, apples, or carrots with pb and honey |
