| the previous owner bought it for $9 million./ Leave it to short ol danny boy to overpay |
It was never a status to live in Potomac. Almost all gaudy new money houses. Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Georgetown and Upper NW DC are actual status addresses. |
| Oh no, I hope this doesn’t mean he’ll stay longer. |
| I assume this is step one on him asking for VA residents to pay for a new stadium. Boo. |
| This is a case where he knows he overpaid. It's not an investment play by any stretch. If he sells down the road, it will take years to sell. But, unlike Potomac, Northern Virginia has only so many properties of this caliber right on the river that suit his needs. If he was going to build the stadium out in Loudoun, there are more places for him to buy. But he's not. So for along the 95 corridor, this one made the most sense for him. His wife probably wanted to stay closer to the city. |
| Wow, that's beautiful. I wish them many fond memories and happiness. |
Well they had it listed for $60 mil so he got a deal. |
| What I want to know is that the commission on this sale is! |
Virginia has no estate tax. Expect more moves now that these Boomers' kids are growth and they are staring at their mortality. This is clearly an estate/succession play by Snyder. Plus he definitely wants a subsidized government stadium and Republicans in VA are willing to grab their ankles. |
The amount of concrete at the front is tacky. Very tacky. |
Good, he can go. Maryland doesn’t want him. |
River Farm is historically protected (limiting redevelopment) and it was subsequently taken off the market due to improved finances at the American Horticultural Society (which owns it). At least we can count on the American Horticultural Society to keep an eye on the trees... |
| The thought that Washington use to live on that land while owning other human beings must give Dan the hardest of wood |
Yup. Forever a redskin in his heart. |
So do you think the stadium will be in Prince William? |
