Feast your eyes on Gwyneth Paltrow's new manse in Montecito

“A home should reflect the physicality and ethos of its owner, and this house takes its cues from Gwyneth’s height, beauty, and focus on distillation. You see it in the tall bones, the attenuated proportions, the radiused corners, and the slender molding profiles,” Standefer avers. “The house is built around extremely precise, thoughtful spaces that we refined again and again for years.”

This had me rolling on the floor.

Fun! She lives right by my hedge fund friends, that’s a fun neighborhood and community. Great Montessori school as well down the road.

That strange - uh, plant fixture with the - tree?- sticking out of it on the table top at minute :27 is giving me anxiety.
in a bad way.

the powder room is so ugly. also: the bar, the art (why??), and the fixtures (????) in the living room.

Not a fan of most of the uncomfortable-looking furniture, but the architecture is spectacular and yowza on that spa!

I hate the spa, it feels claustrophobic.

That spa is bigger than my first condo - are you kidding? Maybe you don't like it because its underground?

I like the spa and the pool but I am drawn to any part of a house with water.

Needs good lighting and greenery, but it's amazing.

I expected to love it. I'm disappointed. Except for the hammock, which is awesome.

I sort of agree. I feel like there is nothing specific because they haven't really lived there - it feels very new. Also, you don't see any of the family living areas. That's all entertaining space.

I love the black doors and huge windows. The dining room and kitchen dining area are wonderful. The dining room was my fave.
I like how she put the range where she wanted the range to suit her routine/lifestyle. I don't think I like the wall of dishes, but I might like it if it was more eclectic. I love the open shelves for the pots. I feel bad for her housekeepers though.

I liked the living room as a concept/entertaining room, which is what it is. No one hangs out in there and that's fine. That bar is cool.

Really would have loved to see one family area and the master bedroom.

That hammam spa is spectacular.

The off-center table in the entryway is triggering me.
