How many fights did your kid see at Deal this week?

It's child abuse to make your kids go to DCPS. Abuse breeds abuse.

My kids never saw a physical fight in all their years at FCPS. Zero.

Every single parent who cares about this situation should email this video to the principal, the Chancellor and the Mayor. This should not be swept under the rug. There are too many students in that building. The people who created this situation and who maintain it should be flooded with this evidence of their failure to keep kids safe.

Remember the Deal principal in the 2000’s? I can’t remember his name but all he had to do was look at a kid and they would get in line. He went to all the store owners Along Connecticut Avenue and told them if they saw any of his students acting up to call him and he would be on it right away. He made deal such a wonderful safe place. Of course it wasn’t quite as large then as it is now.

I honestly think school districts are going to have to return to a zero tolerance policy for violence or at least meaningful consequences for students. You think there is a teacher shortage now? With the pandemic, the increasing demands on teachers and the lack of support for misbehaving and violent kids there are going to be no teachers left.

It says that they can assault teachers, administrators, and any other adults in the building with impunity.

As for the AP that was assaulted, he is dedicated, and I wouldn't wish this on any staff member at Deal, but, he's not that wonderful. Look at the rate of turnover in ELA teachers at Deal.

While you are yawning look at the threads about the Wilson physics class with no teacher and the three Walls teacher vacancies. You will care when your kid has no teacher. And with the way things are going it is likely to happen.
