That's how I read it, too. Che thought this was their big break - and when it not only fell apart, but fell apart because people despised them, it it threw them for a loop. They retreated into a pretty bad depression they are climbing out of. (Gah, I do my best with pronouns - but using they/them is so awkward in a sentence! One tries though!!) I assume Che has some money saved up - and could return to standup if they want. They're working at the vet's office now because it's a place where they feel safe and not like their whole ego is on the line - plus, some $ (though probably not much) and health insurance. |
| I loved Charlotte in this episode. Letting the dog in at the end was perfect. |
| Who lived in Carrie's apartment while she was living with Big? |
| Great episode, imo. |
| They should have had LTW get an abortion. Such a missed opportunity for meaningful storytelling, especially in the current political climate. |
| How could Lisette afford to buy Carrie's apartment? A "rock bottom price" in NYC would still be unrealistic for a young new artist. |
I like that they included “I’m grateful for the option” line at least. |
PP here. I just read a comment by a viewer on comment that LTW took the pill. "You'll handle it."-- Herbert. "I always do." -- LTW. And she's pretty definitive when she tells him that it's too late when he suggests going to ER. That sounds like a good interpretation to me. Still, I wish the writers would have been a little more explicit about a medical abortion rather than hinting at it and maintaining plausible deniability. |
No one. It was used as place to get away by Carrie and her friends. |
She and Big took turns using it as an occasional escape, I thought. |
| It was wild seeing Dolly Wells turn up. I wonder if it was just a tiny cameo or if she and Miranda could end up dating. She was AMAZING in Inside Man. |
She meant she’ll make the biggest sacrifices once the child is born. Like she always does. And she was probably bleeding quite heavily. They didn’t give her any reason to have to lie to her husband about it. |
Yeah, her husband would have been supportive of an abortion so I'm not sure why she would lie about it. |
It had to be intense for it to be believable that Aidan would break up with her when he pined for her for so long. |
We already had two main characters—Carrie and Samantha—talk about their abortion experiences. We don’t need a third main character to go through that. I think a lot more women of LTW’s age related to getting unexpectedly pregnant at an advanced maternal age, feeling conflicted but deciding to keep it, then losing it. In fact, there have been numerous threads about that on DCUM. |
