This is how YSR calculates rankings. I’ve actually found it fairly accurate. Teams that are within 1 point or so are generally competitive games. Of course it’s not perfect but enough to get a relative sense of how two teams compare. |
YSR gives points for the league you play in and first team vs second team. ECNL is given more weight vs GA by YSR. Watch what happens when Arlington switches league. They will magic gain a point or two.

Teams not being mentioned:
Mclean - 11th of 13 in Mid Atlantic ECNL. 11 games played, -17 Goal Diff. Best win of Fall season was Baltimore Shamrocks. Not a win over any top teams. No notable losses to local teams. Metro - 4th in Mid Atlantic GA. +4 Goal Diff. Best win is twice over Sporting Delaware (similar to SYC). No wins over any top ten teams. No bad losses. Loudoun - 6th of 13 in Mid Atlantic ECNL. 12 games played, -6 Goal Diff. Best win was over SYC. No wins over any top ten teams. Lost to Bethesda twice and also lost to VYS. Also lost to bottom teams in ECNL North Atlantic. VYS - 1st in Virginia ECNL RL. +27 GD. Best wins were Loudoun, Baltimore Shamrocks, and SYC Blue. Lost to Arlington Red and VSA RL. Bethesda - 9th of 9 in ECNL North Atlantic. -25 GD in 16 games. Best wins were twice over Loudoun, FC Frederick and FC Bucks (similar to Arlington GA). Lost twice to FC Frederick, MD Rush South, and Baltimore Shamrocks. SYC game played by 09 Bethesda team. FC Frederick - 2nd in CCL. +40 GD. Best wins were Maryland United, Bethesda twice, and Baltimore Shamrocks. Worst losses are Bethesda and MD Rush South. Take it for what it is. |

FYI, one of those Bethesda losses you listed was actually just a forfeit. Anyhoo, I thought this was about predictions??? I don't care about what anyone posts here when is comes to Bethesda. I am a parent and know we have a new coach along with some new quality players. Mclean will benefit from the SYC merger. Not sure if Loudoun gained or lost players. Same goes for FCV. Can't get a straight answer because parents fight too much here. No idea about MD United. No idea about VYS. FC Frederick will keep the same team. SYC is going to lose a lot of players. Pipeline added players. Supposedly VDA got SYC's best player from what I read here. Here is my prediction as a Bethesda parent who gives zero f's about your facts or opinions. 1. Pipeline ECNL 2. VDA ECNL 3. FC Virginia 4. Arlington ECNL 5. Virginia Union ECNL 6. Bethesda ECNL 7. FC Frederick 8. Loudoun ECNL 9. Metro GA 10. VYS RL Top 3 are a step above anyone in DMV. After that it's anyone's game! 10. |

. Wrong! U13 was the first year playing 11v11, yes most players have developed through the years and know how soccer is played but first year 11v11 big field they are developing into the game, how different positions and formation work, etc. |

Lol who is saying she is the best player or if any player went to VDA? Some rando on the internet? You really think most parents would know the best player on a team and how they will fit on another team? As these girls age style of play becomes more and more important. A forward may be great when getting the ball at their feet in the final 1/3 but struggle on a team where they must win long balls at center half. A midfielder may be great on a team that uses a direct style winning balls and disrupting play but struggle in a possession playmaking role on a team that build through the midfield. The reverse will be true also. |

How does union become the best team? Recruitment? It’s definitely not through development. It never has. |

I can't wait for VDA to come up short next season even BRYC got a few players from Vienna. Union got FCV's top 2 players.
Arlington will be the team to beat what will people say when Arlington beats VDA? |
