Arlington will not beat VDA.

Unless Arlington has recruited some new players they’ll not struggle in ECNL but they won’t be beating the top teams. I watched them play in the GA playoffs and they were God awful to be fair.

Arlington will still beat VDA. VDA teams fizzle as they get older.

1. McLean
2. VDA
3. Loudoun
4. Arlington

Wrong!!

1.Mclean ( I agree Mclean is and will always be a top team in the area)
2.BRYC (its the name and people always follow a good name)
3.Loudoun
4.Arlington...

10.VDA ( Bottom low level team, only kids who weren’t accepted on other top tier teams come here)

LOL. The above was from September of 2019. Just shows how wrong we can be.

I still think ultimately Virginia Union (McLean) will rise to the top (maybe not this year, but probably next year at the latest)

How is that even possible if their best player went to VDA?

Lol who is saying she is the best player or if any player went to VDA? Some rando on the internet? You really think most parents would know the best player on a team and how they will fit on another team? As these girls age style of play becomes more and more important. A forward may be great when getting the ball at their feet in the final 1/3 but struggle on a team where they must win long balls at center half. A midfielder may be great on a team that uses a direct style winning balls and disrupting play but struggle in a possession playmaking role on a team that build through the midfield. The reverse will be true also.

How does union become the best team? Recruitment? It’s definitely not through development. It never has.

Well I have seen this before. The best or better teams in the older age groups usually are a result of a merger, players following a coach, collapse of another team, etc. Not saying Union will be the best but it looks like they added a lot of new players and have a history of putting good teams together.

My two cent big clubs do not develop players because they do not have to and development u9-u12 is boring monotonous work for the coaches and players. They rely on their pool size. Smaller clubs can not do that so they work on developing players but the players will leave to a bigger club/ECNL/GA.

Which clubs do you think are developing players? Arlington and Loudoun seem to rely on big pools of players, you say McLean does not develop players but recruits them. What about metro, VDA, etc?

BRYCs problem isn't the players. The coaching. Some good players have been imprinted with a late '90s division 3 college style of play.

No. They don't either.

Let’s see how this fall season goes — I expect most of these predictions will be totally off base. Far too much daddy ball posters on here and these guys aren’t remotely objective.

+1. I wonder how many of these parents are focusing on their DD’s academic performance in 7th/8th grade next year compared to soccer. LOL

My DD has had straight A’s since actual grades started and is in accelerated learning program. I posted a prediction. How about you quit being judgemental.

Your DD sounds amazing. Why don’t you predict your daughter’s great future getting into Ivy League schools, getting her PhD and being a future US President?
