He’s going to leave her. He’s going to decide that that much time in New York, away from his family, away from his farmhouse, is not something he can handle. It will all be very sad and very sweet.

What I wouldn’t give, even just for a one-scene cameo, would be a run-in with Berger. Just long enough for her to be like, “You broke up with me on a Post-It,” and for him to sincerely apologize.

But then, couldn't Carrie go with him? She can write books anywhere.

She could, but there's no way Carrie will leave New York for a man again. Definitely not to go to Norfolk VA.

Why would charlotte be checking out Carrie’s apartment in that orange dress with the puffy sleeves. Did you attend some kind of semi formal event beforehand? Like the story line, it just doesn’t mesh. You can’t just put characters in crazy outfits when there is no fitting reason for them to be wearing them midday. I mean, she’s a stay at home mom for the majority of the time for f’s sake. Next Miranda will be doing her dishes while in in a tuxedo.

yep, both parents have mentioned Wyatt (the 14 year old) as being a challenge already. They are setting this up.

I think they are also setting up some drama with Carrie's writing, in that scene where Kathy asks her not to write about the boys. I don't think Carrie will knowingly break her promise, but I think something is going to happen with that.

One thing that occurred to me during that scene is that Carrie has a TON of writing about sex and relationships out there, in print and on the internet, and these boys are all in their teens, right? I think this could potentially be extremely awkward. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Wyatt's dictates for Carrie might stem from him already having found some of her writing, perhaps about her prior relationships with Aiden, and his discomfort with the situation.

I think it's pretty lame they didn't show us Carrie's first trip down to Virginia and meeting the boys. I get they are doing these big time jumps, but I find it annoying to have not had a chance to see Carrie in "Norfolk" and the sheer awkwardness of meeting these kids. I guess this episode we saw her with Brady and Lily for a second so we know it's not like she's totally unused to being around teens, but I still think that situation is ripe for weirdness and classic Carrie "fish out of NYC" moments. They could have at least given us one scene in VA this episode so we can see what that actually looks like.

This will probably be the meat of the conversation with Samantha. Or being comforted after the breakup.

Charlotte went back to work at an art gallery. She's probably in her work clothes. So was Miranda.

Umm would you show up to work in those outfits? Miranda went to work at human rights in her outfit? Maybe if she was at the law firm OK. Charlottes sleeves were absolutely nuts. Not appropriate art gallery wear. Way too over dressed. Just like the show trying way to hard

As sweet as he is, his folksy manner of speaking is highly annoying.

Did anyone else lol over the fact that his “virginia farmhouse” is located in NORFOLK?? Is it a fish farm? Bc Norfolk doesnt even have enough dry land for a regular house much less a farm, lmao

As someone who lives in Norfolk, this is so bizarre and hilarious to me.

It’s more like the Norfolk area. I am thinking it’s more like Smithfield or isle of eight or Suffolk.

Somehow even less believable.

Yeah the mom says something like “he is our little puzzle boy” which is code for lite autism. I think Carrie will write something and use the phrase without realizing or something like that . . .

Also the boys that enjoy violent video games might be gun enthusiasts or trump supporters or something

MIDDLEBURG or just LOUDOUN COUNTY IN GENERAL would have been more believable.

also lol at Aidan's wife being a textile artist. when he said he lived in norfolk, i was rooting for his ex to be like, a pilot boat captain or something cooler that also would explain why they had to live in NORFOLK

I am actually glad they skipped Carrie’s trip to VA. I had zero interest in seeing her interact with the kids and am so thankful for the quick recap.

This - I was so looking forward to this episode because I thought Carrie's story arc would take place in Norfolk. I think they missed a real opportunity to show some humor and tension on screen.

I think this relationship will end soon and there's no need to introduce the boys, other than a quick glimpse of the "problem" child.

I mean the clothes for the show were always a bit over the top / meant for attention. The clothes were another major character on the show. It would be kind of boring otherwise. Have you seen the original?

Agree. This is one area where I'm happy to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the spectacle.

Kind of a random storyline. Wonder if this will introduce tension into the marriage, whatever the outcome.
