Funerals, processions, announcements and routes pre-planned - of course. But video tributes with personal interviews? No. Too much can go change or go wrong and it would need to be ‘refreshed’ too often. |
Old Phillip was loyal to the end - Intriguingly, among the family photographs of children and grandchildren he always kept on his office desk at Windsor, was one of Prince Charles and Princess Diana taken on their wedding day. |

As suspected - he’s been dying this week.
There was no dramatic decline in his health but it was gradual. Earlier this week, staff said Philip was 'on good form'. He was still reading and writing letters. Remember, this was a man who prided himself on his fitness and who rarely complained. Even so he was not pain free. And rehearsals for his death were already under way. Late at night, a team of footmen at Buckingham Palace had been practising the placing of the official typed statement about the duke's death. |
Not the princess royal. One conversation with Meghan Markle and Anne knew she was short story material and not worth more than the perfunctory. |

That is really weird. Camilla and Charles should have married in the first place. They are clearly compatible and a good match. Diana was a full on histrionic personality who led a tragic life. |
I thought Philip hated Diana. |
Apparently not as much as the tabloid reporters wanted everyone to believe. Makes sense considering its their job to make the Prince of Wales/heir look good no matter if he's a lowdown, cheating cad who emotionally abused a 19-year-old. |
Philip didn’t hate Diana. She excelled at her job. The people loved her. She made Charles relevant. She quickly produced an heir and a spare. She added value to the BRF. Philip was likely disappointed by Charles. Charles dragged his feet with Camilla and marriage in general. He couldn’t hide his cheating. He couldn’t keep the peace with his wife. Philip blamed Charles for that, not Diana. Can you imagine your father keeping a wedding photo of you and your ex on his desk? Speaks volumes about how he felt about Charles. Philip never complained. That’s widely known. I’m sure he hated whiners. And Charles is the prince of whiners. No wonder Harry is the way he is. |
Phillip famously loved Gordonstoun because it was great for young men who physically excelled. Charles detested it for that very reason. I can't help but think Harry would have loved it as well. |
Except the many, many, many widows that outlive their husbands by decades. |

Feel really sorry for the Queen. Castles and titles do not protect from the loss and grief.
My heartfelt condolences to the Queen and all his relatives |
| Bye, Bye Birdie! |
| I wonder if the queen will die of sorrow. Many old couple do that. |
