The documents seem to suggest that the kids were getting testing accommodations and the special proctors were bought. They weren't going through the ID hundreds of kids in the room testing most people do.

Don't you love those testing accomodations.

Biggest loophole in "secure" testing environments of SAT/ACT.

I am cringing that Lori Loughlin paid 40k to have someone take her daughter’s sat for her. The paid for score was 1420, 400 points added to her own 1020 score.

That girl must be a dunce.

But I do want the experience of like game days, partying…I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know.”

All I can say is WOW.

Imagine if you really wanted to go to that school, didn't get in, but this dum-dum did?

There is a family at my daughter's private who have sent 3 girls to Princeton lacrosse over the last 6 years. Only one of the three actually plays in games consistently, the other two are on the roster but dont get into games. The family is flashy rich (the tacky kind); I wouldnt put them above bribing their way in.

Dude that's not cool, it took me 2 minutes of google to find out who those kids are.

+1
Ps - to the ahole poster above... not being first string isn’t what we are talking about here. Of course you knew that. Sorry your kids aren’t as successful.

Oh come on! You really think they just happened to have 3 kids smart enough to all get in to Princeton? No sympathy here that they were outed for buying their way in.

This must be doubly humiliating that not only were the parents caught bribing their kids' way in, but now the entire world knows how stupid their children actually are!

Girl is an idiot. There was an outcry about this at the time and now we all know mommy paid for her admissions.

Agreed. And the most hilarious thing is, if she 'doesn't know how much of school' she's 'gonna attend', what difference does it make which school she is enrolled in? Could have been University of Phoenix!
Now her 'career' is in big jeopardy.

I think Buckingham's son was totally blindsided. Also are indictments sealed until release? So did the parents in the scandal have time to prepare before this morning?

Not that I'm shedding tears for them but a LOT of them have open social media right now. Too bad proud mom is heading to the slammer.

omg the idiot son's writing sample is GOLDEN

STOP. That can't be real.

That isn't a writing sample, it's a sample of penmanship. Did she not understand what they were asking for or was someone trying to forge his handwriting? (FWIW: My kid is crazy gifted smart and his penmanship is worse.)

I think they were trying to get a handwriting sample to the person who was going to take the ACT for him.

It was. They found a boy in 2nd grade, but his handwriting was a little too good. They eventually found a kid in 1st.

Where does this kid attend college?

Is jail possible?

I mean, I kind of get it. I would pay 500k to get my kid into a top school, wouldn’t you?

I wouldn’t want to risk getting arrested, however.

^^ID

I remember watching a Lifetime movie where a girl from a poor family made money by taking SATs for her wealthy classmates. In that case, the classmates provided her with a fake ID - the test-taker's picture, and the 'customer's name.
Not sure if it is hard to do in real life.. but why not?

Of course I wouldn't. It's cheating. I would feel like a giant phony. But my kids are actually bright and aren't trying to maintain their Insta-fame.

And tax fraud (for the "donations" to the fake charity)? Yes.
