Relationship Discussion (non-explicit)
That feature does not exist. |
Correct. Because the software developers all agree that common decorum places the responsibility on the recipient. |
That's what you have yourself to justify your rude and entitled behavior. |
| I always have my phone on Silence, so text/phone calls never bother me. But I also don't text people early in the morning or late in the evening. Common sense, people! |
By your own admission, you are at work at an unusual hour while most people are still sleeping. Therefore, you should adjust to what the "norm" is and not demand that everyone bend to accommodate you. |
I hope that you understand that this is the very definition of a “you” issue. I’m assuming people are banging on a Starbucks door in your hypo because they want someone to respond at 2 am. Who is asking anyone to respond in the off hours? |
Would you text your boss at 5:00 am and insist that he/she is wrong to be annoyed if you woke them up? Of course, you wouldn't!! You reserve this kind of entitled behavior for family and friends. |
I would love to see the venn diagram between the people who refuse to take control of their own phones and those who post here about the woe-is-me “burdens” placed on the them by other people. |
Yes I would and I have, because my boss is not a princess. If you have a phone, I expect you to know how to use basic functions. |
But what if your boss came to you and said "please don't text me at 5:00 am again. We are sleeping during that time and you woke is up." I'm SURE you would tell her right away how stupid and incompetent she is. Righ? RIGHHHHTTT?
|
It does on some Android text apps, just not on iPhone |
DP - I wouldn’t tell my boss they were incompetent to his face, no. But I would laugh at him with all my coworkers. Kind of like this thread. |
| SO, to sum up. Regardless of whether it is appropriate to text before dawn, your SIL has asked you not to do so, so don't! |
| The people who are saying "don't text before 8am". do you have a job? I don't want to deal with personal texts during my work day. I would rather receive them early or late, I respond when I'm available, that's why it's texting, not calling. |
Was anyone here saying OP should continue texting her SIL at 6:51? No they were not. Thanks for the strawman. |
