It’s very telling if you are real that you can’t name one thing or wish to engage on education in general or in the Ward.

My education focus is on the fact that our mayor refuses to engage with teachers on a new contract and I'm yet again working on an expired deal, as I have for 7/10 years as an ET-15 in DCPS. Served on the chancellors cabinet under Ferebee, and have been recognized at past standing ovation events. I hope that clears up any confusion about my educational claims.
Council doesn't even have an education dept anymore thanks to mendo so there's not much intersectionality between Allen and what I would like from my govt. what I don't like is all of this angry rhetoric. When I ask people to claim factually what they dislike, they can't. When I ask them what policies of his have led to more crime, they can't. It's disappointing that Charles Allen takes up so much of the discourse when teachers are working without contracts, in overcrowded classrooms, being tasked with academically and socially lifting up the next generation while our mayor ignores us and our fellow citizens bash our students

It’s not the mayor, it’s Kihn

I’ve named half a dozen policies. For me, and I’m very into restorative justice, these range from stupid (hearings for misdemeanors because it’s not implementable) to harmful (no chase, defund police, ATVs raging at all hours with our children not being able to sleep or perform in class, street vendors and lack of inspections for consumer safety). Basic, boring erosion of every day life.

It hurts that schools aren’t more resourced while his wife gets paid 130k plus benefits out of 700k to deliver 15 board books worth $70 to a school. I think he’s a Ted Cruz of the left and a liability for Democrats

I don't see how Charles Allen is responsible for these policies. I also don't think you're gaining credibility with your hyperbolic comparisons.

No hyperbole. Let’s take getting bricked in the head while out with your baby. And he did NADA. How’s that not making your blood boil?

Carjackings, shootings, drug dealing

But again? Name one good thing.

I agree that the problems facing this city are awful. Crime is also down currently YoY by 18%. So is it Allen's fault we have crime, do we credit Allen now that crime is trending downwards, or do we come to the fact that one person is not responsible one way or the other for the crime wave

That's a lot of ors when you are trying to make someone directly responsible.

Curious what makes you say that? It's also worth noting that Kihn reports to and was appointed by the Mayor

I have noticed a trend in our discussion. You and (maybe others...hard to tell), tend to deflect to this when pressed for evidence or any specific policies that you think are recall worthy. I can tell you that it plays great to your echo chamber but isn't going to convince the rest of us.

Crime is massively up since 2019. They don’t get to cause an explosion of crime and take credit when it’s not quite as bad. What a joke.
