Only if low income or first Gen as that is where colleges will be increasing admissions. |
LOL are there any selective colleges where this is anywhere close to true? And if it's not selective, then the delta isn't relevant. |
And next year, the same people will be whining and griping that their DC Brad, Noah, Olivia, and Emma were still rejected notwithstanding the new admissions landscape....... |
What a tragedy to withhold this wisdom, this manual of stereotypes, from DCUM ![]() Pretty sure Clarence Thomas would fail your test and he’s definitely black (and absolutely right about affirmative action). |
not really. there are so few seats at these elite coastal colleges. the biggest state schools already don't do this (UT, UCs, UM, etc). so maybe one more asian student from UC Berkeley will go to Stanford. This is marginal at best, in aggregate it is mostly symbolic. |
Alleluia. I didn’t immigrate to a country that still openly practices racial discrimination using the name of diversify. |
Bad news : The number of Asian students admitted into these schools won't see an exponential increase.
Good news : They will have to find some other boogeyman to blame . |
I am black and not a troll. Sorry your narrow mind can’t handle it. |
Providing an irrelevant, unfair, and inequitable advantage....makes no sense. |
This is terrible news! Colleges are becoming cookie factories for the rich. Whoever has money and contacts to pay for an advantage get in. We all know who has the advantages. This is so unfair to Black people who have been in America for generations and have been systemically kept out of educational institutions and workforce opportunities.
|
Why would they ? They were never disadvantaged in the first place . |
Why don't you two fools start a new thread? At this point you are both just trolling each other. |
I hoped upside down world will be made right again. |
Harvard doesn't seem to upset with the decision and they are highlighting the subjective aspects of decisions in their letter to the alumni community:
"The Court also ruled that colleges and universities may consider in admissions decisions “an applicant’s discussion of how race affected his or her life, be it through discrimination, inspiration, or otherwise.” We will certainly comply with the Court’s decision." |
First, AOs gave higher points to Asiasn on pretty much everything including ECs, leadership, etc. I'm sure higher points on essays. It was at the committee level that created racist category and gave negative points to Asians. What will the committee tell the under paid AOs now? You better be very careful. Second, it would be equally hard to make a case for the middle class and above Blacks whining about hardship from anything including racism. Good luck finding lots of qualified students from the hood. I can see the graduation rate and overall quality of schools gradually going down. |
