It’s good to know we have a Supreme Court that will soon address such blatantly anti-Asian admissions practices. |
Just doing the dirty work so the white supremacists can pretend they aren’t racist. The feel they are getting points by licking white mommy and daddy’s boots. |
You actually believe the white supremacist courts is going to make a decision that will turn the most prestigious colleges in the country predominantly Asian? Smh. |
I know it's terrible this race-blind process admits mainly Asians discriminates! ![]() |
Once the court rules, geographic quotas like TJ's will become the norm in college admissions. |
Great - let Clarence Thomas (and his racist wife) weigh in.. thats what we need. |
If some people are unhappy now, they'll be thrilled with the court's decision that ushers in geographic quotas as the new normal. |
They already had a chance to do so relatively easily, and would have saved probably three classes at TJ by doing so. They chose not to. Speaks volumes. |
They already are. |
I hate to break it to you, but soft geographical quotas are already the norm at most elite schools. Turns out, it’s really good for business for students in all parts of the country to believe that they have a shot to go to their school. |
Hmmm, should I report this for racism or just let it stand as an example? |
I’m assuming that Barrett and Kavanaugh are wobbly on the aa question. Gorsuch is a bit of a wild card too. But even if 5 votes can be cobbled together to find the Harvard and UNC policies unlawful, so many questions will remain re race neutrality. The TJ policy seems solid. |
Sure, they will vote against white supremacy to pull the Asians up above everyone including white students. Wishful thinking. |
No surprise there. I knew everyone who is anyone does this already because it helps create a diverse class, but most of the posters here don't and have all these crazy expectations that things will be more to their liking. |
They already are. They were implemented 100 years ago to hold down the number of Jews. Around 2000, colleges started actively trying to hold down the number of Asians. They lowered the percentage at ivy leagues to 15% despite an increasing Asian percentage in university age students, and among high performers on SATs and other measures. |
