I think I missed something: why did they walk a long way with the coffin and then put it in a hearse to drive it somewhere?

The new Princess of Wales should share her secret on how to have well-mannered children and it should be mandatory reading for all American parents!

Agree, the children were exemplary. Princess Charlotte even knew how to smooth her coat beneath her to sit on it without crushing it, as she took her seat in the car leaving the chapel. Many an adult does't know that.

Not to be contrarian though--OK, it's definitely contrarian--I wish they would retire the title Prince of Wales. It's rooted in centuries of subjugation of the Welsh. Titles based on actual landholdings (like Duke of Cornwall or Duke of Westminster) or on landless honors (like Earl of Wessex) are one thing, but Prince of Wales isn't that. Yes, we have relatives in Wales, and they find it an annoyed eye-roll at best, and truly offensive at worst.

That’s why William was stationed in Wales and lived there during military service. Hoping to get admiration from the Welsh.

On the other hand, Harry is living LA hoping to get admiration from Meghan's crowd.

Don’t think so … more like trying to make his wife happy and adjusting to life as a senior British royal would have been overwhelming for any foreign commoner … the royals Made a mistake in cutting them loose as they would have helped to bridge huge cultural gaps for younger British and commonwealth citizens …

They were upset by racist British press coverage. How was the royal family supposed to stop that? Meghan saw everything as spectacle and assumed they were "acting" for the public. She didn't realize all the protocol would translate to her private life as well. Diana said she felt she wasn't well prepared for life as a royal. I think it is ironic that Harry couldn't prepare Meghan either.

Um, the actual family had conversations about how dark Archie's skin was likely to be. Don't blame the press for that, darling.

We’ve only heard one side.

So...they are free to tell their "side" at any time. I would love to hear them defend that particular conversation.

They responded. In a formal statement. Basically saying it was all made up, or in more diplomatic terms “recollections vary.” That was the only response they are ever going to give.

Yes, they prefer keeping their hands clean. They use “sources” to leak to the gutter press instead. Or they use someone like Jason Knauf.
Classy!

Slinging a vague, nameless accusation to Oprah is not classy.

Sir, this is Her Royal Majesty's funeral thread, not an Arby's.

I loved all the different uniforms on display.

According to Meghan. Who already wanted out.

Wasn’t it said to Harry who told Meghan? I’m guessing it was William or Kate which explains the animosity William has towards Harry.

Harry should never have repeated that to her. All it served is to make her feel even more vulnerable during a difficult time. Black people definitely talk about what skin tone their babies might have. Depending on the context and tone, she might not have even been insulted. I think Harry is the drama llama in that relationship.

How proud must be the parents of all the military who participated today.

I was happy to see at least some women especially in the Navy and in the police force.

It was touching to see the Buckingham Palace staff lined up outside the gates.

Yes. Those closest to the coffin were women as were the horse riders in the parade a few days ago.

Apparently the coffin was 600lbs. Those young pall bearers were amazing.

Yes, and her horse!

Her horses were understandably stressed and angry (head tossing), but the dogs just looked overfed.

I was getting to recognize them by the end. The first group in Scotland were also amazing.

He really did. I felt bad for him looking like that.

Does anyone really think Charles has any brains? He is stupid and even looks stupid. So be it.

Charles has brains enough to modernize the royal family. The Queen was the star of the show and, with her gone, things will change quickly. The people most affected will be Harry and Meghan because they had only the star power of the Queen. With that gone and a boring king in charge, Meghan and Harry have lost their only marketable skill.

What exactly do you believe will change quickly?

Different poster here. It will be significantly slimmed down in terms of Working Royals/those who represent the king. Slimmed down in terms of expenses. No automatic titles for children, no titles for non working Royals. More separation and formal rules between official duties and family. Children of the heir will be asked after college whether they want to joint the family business or make their own way in life (without titles and fanfare). There will be more involvement from celebrated Brits as representatives of the King in various charities. There will be changes to the rules around the line of succession, so that non working royals and those who don't reside in the UK are not eligible for succession.

Iris Elba was helped by the Princes Trust, and we might see more of him as he already has made appearances with Charles. Same fo David Beckham who has done sports related work. Martin. Lunes is head of the British Horse Society, a patronage of the Queen.

Royal coffins are lined in lead so the corpses don’t rot as quickly.
