This. I hope this woman is alive and well. However, it's not "victim blaming" to say that we can learn from this and NOT do some of these things. When I was in HS, I lived in a bubble. I went to an expensive private school and was sheltered from a lot of negative sides of the world. I left my wallet in my bag unattended and someone stole $100. I insisted that I should be able to leave things wherever I want and not have someone steal it. Luckily my mom set me straight. She told me that yes, I should be able to leave my purse on the metro even and come back to find it unharmed. I should be able to walk through dark alleys and not get mugged. Unfortunately, that isn't the world that we live in. Not everyone is as good natured or has good intentions and we have to protect ourselves. That isn't victim blaming. |

Unlike the perp's prior crime when he kidnapped the attorney at gunpoint, put him in his trunk, and drove him around to withdraw money from ATMs, the perp presumably knew this woman would not have her wallet w her while running and clearly had no vehicle. Unlike the prior, the motivation for the crime does not appear to be money (no ransom, no missing money, etc.) |
| Maybe she was having an affair and this was all planned out to fake her death/disappearance. |
Wait, so he’s such an obvious loser with an unimpressive job, former addition and tattoos…and now he’s such a catch that he also has a mistress? |
| Whoever did it, how dumb can a preposterously rich person be not to have personal protection? |

She comes from a rich family. She herself doesn’t seem to be rich. Middle class by income and UMC by assets; at best. |
He is so clean cut and cute in these pictures - from the short statement linked above it looks like everyone in that family has lost like 20-30 lbs and all look gaunt. I'm not linking that to her disappearance, it's just really noticeable. |
But his shoes were found at the scene… |
| I heard they got his DNA from his shoes. |
She was an obsessive runner and he was an obsessive long distance cyclist - which raises the question of why he wouldn't bike along side her running, presuming they had a nanny or au pair. Anyway, that's why they look skinny. |
| She was much heavier (it looked good) in her wedding photos. She lost a ton of weight. |
