So, after 20 pages on this topic, what changes? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Everyone is acting mad but in a few days this becomes "yesterday's news" and we move on... Until the next shooting. Nothing ever changes in this country.

IMHO, NY state police dropped the ball on his previous threats. They didn't red flag him in the system, likely because he was a minor when he made the threats.

If you threaten to shoot up your school at age 17, you shouldn't be able to get access to a gun only a year later. Their brains are too impulsive.

Apparently his parents gave him a bolt action rifle and a shotgun in 2020....when he was 16. WTF. Parents are clearly the ones encouraging his interest in guns. Wouldn't surprise me if dad had a small arsenal.

Countries that have appropriate gun control do not have disproportionate crime. In fact in many it is the opposite.

Apples and oranges. Do you really think that if you impose some type of massive gun control that the United States is suddenly going to turn into Switzerland or Denmark or New Zealand? Those are wonderful places but they simply don't have to deal with the same underlying issues of criminal behavior that we do.

What about China? If a country with a sixth of the world’s population living in some of the densest urban areas in the world can ban guns, pretty sure we can do it, too. Obviously there will always be some semblance of a black market, but pretty sure impulsive, racist 17 year olds would have to try a hell of a lot harder to murder their neighbors.

Well, they did detain the DC snipers alive. The guy who drove his SUV through the crowd in WI and killed multiple people was brought in alive. Willie Godbolt shot and killed 8 people in Mississippi and was brought in alive. The Las Vegas shooter was not brought in alive. I never understood why people are fixated on whether a shooter is brought in alive or not. It's very hard to see a correlation with anything.

When you have to reach back 20 years to find an example in the DC sniper, arrested in 2003 and executed in 2009. You aren’t doing much to refute PP. Might as well have brought Allen in dead. And Malveaux arrested at 17 and incarcerated in a Supermax prison ever since. He will never see the light of day and I’m almost certain no one bought him a cheeseburger the night he was arrested.
