I would be so pissed if that happened. He's worked so hard, and he would just be poised to go down the same unhappy road as Jack.

Unhappy with the love of his life?? I hope they end up happy together.

PP here. I don't disagree, but for me to be satisfied, they are going to have to make it make sense. I said upthread - what has Sophie been doing these last several years while waiting to be written back in. Sophie has a heck of a lot more going for her than Kevin. The smart, healthy, and real choice for someone like Sophie would be to have moved on. I hope if they bring her back that she gets a story arc and meaning of her own.

That's true; yet Rebecca loved Jack despite his flaws. This show loves some parallels.

Maybe they're going to say that Deja wants to go to college in Boston too. But she still has another year of high school, so...?

We're talking about Future Deja and Malik. In the flash forward at Rebecca's deathbed Deja is pregnant. So the question is who is she with in the future.

I think Malik is just Deja's first love, that's it. No way will they be together as adults.

They knew and loved each other's parents (Sophie: I can't believe I'm going to spend the rest of my life with someone who didn't know my mom). When Kevin was rehearsing his speech for Kate's wedding, he wanted to use the Princess Bride joke connecting him to Sophie. I think she's been in every timeline, and seems to come back at crucial moments. Her call definitely played into the doubts he was having about Madison. He always said he wanted a great love story like his parents', and Sophie is the only one who fits: the history, humor, chemistry, and ability to come back together after very rough patches. HOWEVER, his ideas about love have always been very immature. He seems to be growing up and a more mature Kevin could be a great partner to any of the current possibilities, even though his strongest chemistry so far (by far imo) has been with Sophie.

Madison was so cute about her geeky love interest, I want that for her. He definitely seems like they have fun together and he'd adore her.

Dour Cassidy, I just can't see, but we'll see what the writers come up with.

Totally agree with all of this!! It'll be Sophie and I liked Madison's new "friend" too.

“Trust me, Kevin, this is the ending everyone wants, and they still won’t see it coming,” Shyamalan says. Meanwhile, Kevin’s assistant — who is holding onto the actor’s phone — receives yet another call from Sophie.

I'll be shocked if it's not Sophie in the end.

Wow - you're good! All these details I had completely forgotten about.

I'm just not seeing Kate and the other music teacher. Was there some hint that they get together? That's another "no chemistry" pairing.

Music teacher refers to Kevin as a teacher brother-in-law. It could be a sibling of music teacher marrying Kate.

Sorry - episode 5 spoilers to follow:

I found this episode a little choppy in some respects.

Randall wins the night with his almost breaking the fourth wall exposition of Kevin's current relationship situation. "It's Cassidy by a hundredth of a second!" I was laughing so hard.

And sorry, Kev/Cassidy shipper(s), that seems like a nope. I was actually very satisfied with what Cassidy told him. And she is spot on. She's not in a great place and he actually has no idea what he wants. I definitely think the writers are still teasing us. Obviously, they are steering towards Kevin and Madison next, but we'll see. Kevin Growth Exposition continues.

Nice to see Tess and Annie. It kind of sucks that they've been relegated to ensemble cast, but I do like the sibling relationship with Deja.

I literally have no idea if Malik and Deja make it, but maybe. I think their plan is stupid and Randall is 100 million percent right - Malik needs to let her go and grow. I think he does and it's going to be a satisfying reunion that everyone loves.

I feel like this Rebecca dating bit could have been worked into season 4 or season 5. It's boring and taking up time and I don't like that in this episode it's used solely as a device to create conflict between Kate and Rebecca.

Why is Mandy Moore not the lead credit in this series? She literally does everything, and has for years.
