Kevin ends up with Cassidy Kate is alive and happy, Toby gad a hard time after the divorce Malik and Deja are not married but ended their relationship on a good note |
We're talking about Future Deja and Malik. In the flash forward at Rebecca's deathbed Deja is pregnant. So the question is who is she with in the future. |
I think she does end up with Malik, but they split up and reconnect at a later date when she's older, through college etc. Kate probably fine with English guy, clear Toby is alone based on his bedroom. Sophie, it's always been Sophie. He hasn't had that depth of feeling for anyone else, unless it ends up growing with Madison. But they seem better as friends. |

It has to be Madison. Sophie has a new life-- cute husband, baby. She's going to dump all that to go back to the guy who's had relapsing addiction? Why?
I think Kevin will stay sober, but I don't see Sophie throwing away her new life and take that risk. She's always been emotionally healthy. It wouldn't make any sense. Kevin and Madison are good together, and I think Kevin has more feelings for her than he recognizes. They have a great rapport and sense of humor together. They "get" each other's body image issues. Kevin thinks love is supposed to be some big, dramatic Hollywood/Jack and Rebecca ideal thing. Recognizing that it isn't would be the final step in his personal/emotional growth. Team Madison! |
I don't think any of this came to pass. She got engaged after only 6 months, and seemed annoyed by her fiancé at her mother's funeral. The weird comment about the number change suggests it didn't work out and he may even have become a problem. |
Wasn't there a scene with her in bed with him and she was pregnant? Or I am remembering it wrong? |

I'm stuck on Sophie and Kevin because of their history. They knew and loved each other's parents (Sophie: I can't believe I'm going to spend the rest of my life with someone who didn't know my mom). When Kevin was rehearsing his speech for Kate's wedding, he wanted to use the Princess Bride joke connecting him to Sophie. I think she's been in every timeline, and seems to come back at crucial moments. Her call definitely played into the doubts he was having about Madison. He always said he wanted a great love story like his parents', and Sophie is the only one who fits: the history, humor, chemistry, and ability to come back together after very rough patches. HOWEVER, his ideas about love have always been very immature. He seems to be growing up and a more mature Kevin could be a great partner to any of the current possibilities, even though his strongest chemistry so far (by far imo) has been with Sophie.
Madison was so cute about her geeky love interest, I want that for her. He definitely seems like they have fun together and he'd adore her. Dour Cassidy, I just can't see, but we'll see what the writers come up with. |
| I think Kevin goes to see Cassidy and talks to her about Sophie. He then goes and does a big Jack gesture to get Sophie. |

Agree about dour Cassidy. I feel like Kevin needs someone with the right amount of baggage-- enough to connect with, but not so much he gets dragged down by them (Cassidy) or so little that he always feels like the broken or not good enough one (Sophie).
Madison or Zoe are both a good fit that way. They've both had their demons but have worked through a lot and have arrived at a good place. They know Kevin isn't perfect, but because they've made so much progress of their own, they can look at him with some optimism and confidence. I feel like Sophie would always be holding her breath, afraid and expecting him to relapse, and that lack of confidence, itself, would be damaging to Kevin. |
I would be so pissed if that happened. He's worked so hard, and he would just be poised to go down the same unhappy road as Jack. |

There have been so many Sophie Easter eggs. The episode about her mother's funeral did not feel like a goodbye. Pretty sure he said at her grave he just wanted another chance, the whole thing with the emerald ring, and so on.
“Trust me, Kevin, this is the ending everyone wants, and they still won’t see it coming,” Shyamalan says. Meanwhile, Kevin’s assistant — who is holding onto the actor’s phone — receives yet another call from Sophie. I'll be shocked if it's not Sophie in the end. |
Unhappy with the love of his life?? I hope they end up happy together. |
+1 |
We don't know if she's the love of his life. She was the love of his youth, yes. Not sure that she brought out the best of him, though. His mistakes and failures of the past would always be hanging over them. |
PP here. I don't disagree, but for me to be satisfied, they are going to have to make it make sense. I said upthread - what has Sophie been doing these last several years while waiting to be written back in. Sophie has a heck of a lot more going for her than Kevin. The smart, healthy, and real choice for someone like Sophie would be to have moved on. I hope if they bring her back that she gets a story arc and meaning of her own. |
