How many pizzas to order for a birthday party with 15 kids and whatever parents tag along?

each large pizza has 8 slices. would 5 pizzas (40 slices) be enough?

How old are the kids?

I would go with 7 just to be safe.

Always always order extra, and than more extra. It's PIZZA, taste great the next morning and you can always send it home with ppl too. There is Nothing worst then being at a party that clearly doesn't have enough food. Pizzas not shrimp, it's cheap and everyone likes it.

I figure 2 slices per person. If each kid comes with a parent, and you have 30 people, I'd plan on 8 pizzas. I DEFINITELY don't think 5 pizzas is enough. Leftover pizza freezes really well.

I say this as someone who definitely hates to run out of food and who has also gone to a birthday party where I was lucky to get one piece of pizza. If the party is during a mealtime or even close to a mealtime, you need to feed the parents as well as the kids.

Ask them to double slice it, so you get 16 skinny slices, and you will have a lot less waste and 6 pizzas will be plenty.

I think five is plenty. Not necessary to feed the parents.

I wholeheartedly disagree. If the party falls near a mealtime, it is totally rude not to feed the parents (unless we are talking about a party for like 8 year olds-I have preschoolers so that is the age group I'm envisioning). I cannot tell you how many sideways glances were exchanged at a recent birthday party where it was announced that only the kids could have pizza. This was at a 3 year old's party, so every child was there with at least one parent.

My family went to another small party, mostly adults, to celebrate a 2nd birthday, and there were 5 pizzas for about 30 people. The pizza was gone in like three minutes. We left because we were starving. We hadn't had nearly enough. We didn't even stay for cake. The party was at 5pm.

Yes, feed the parents!! Try using some online coupons for your pizza and it is not very expensive if you are doing delivery. Thus far, my kids are young and we have had almost all parents stay. I would never think to not feed them. Very rude.

Have them cut the pizza in 16ths, do not feed the parents, and 3 pies will leave you with leftovers. I don't know who these other posters are who are saying to get eight pizzas or who think leftover pizza tastes good the next day.

Id plan on 30 guests so 8 pizzas.
Depending how man kids and adults are in you immediately family thatwill be there I'd order one more.

Please never, ever invite me to anything you host.

If you assume each kid eats one piece and each adult eats two pieces that will be 45 slices...which would be 6 pizzas.

That should be plenty, especially if you double cut them. Most of the moms won't eat two pieces.

Do this and become known as the really cheap mom. I think you should order between 8-10 pizzas. You always want your guests to feel like there is more than enough to eat.

Do not feed the parents? I swear, were you people raised by wolves? Get eight pizzas, have them double cut four of them.

Get some cases of soda and water for the adults.

You invite people to a gathering and have food, you have enough food for everyone. If you want to take custody of fifteen small kids so you don't have to feed parents, go ahead. I'd rather spend the forty extra bucks to have enough Papa Johns for them.
