Last year’s state final of Yorktown vs BF was a running clock at halftime. |
I’ve laughed all year about the “centreville fear” and the Uber hype. They were a team of 6 or 7 very good players, a couple of field hockey girls and a JV goalie (who stepped up), great coaches and scared people. 😂 I would be a bit nervous about them next year. Their JV team was good and they have been building in-house. I’d be more scared of Westfield, they are getting a lot of very good new players from rec, they just need the coaching. Chantilly needs help from gawd for the next few years. 😢 |
I might have to root for Battlefield if this keeps up like this. Not where I started, with the bravado from their boosters in the first 100 pages of this thread. Someone must have cut off a certain dad.
The schedule isn't great, but they didn't set the regions. I wish the Battlefield players luck. They beat the teams in front of them and had some impressive wins. They have some recruits and a very enthusiastic fan base. Should be a good game. |
I’d root for battlefield if it wasn’t for “Pal.”
Fudge battlefield! |
Oakton wins easily, if you contain #11, then guess what, #4 puts in 10 goals. We all know battlefield is a bunch of whiners from the gated communities out west and is basically a glorified rec team.
Oakton will walk Al over bfield and the parents of bfield will be screaming their heads off blaming the refs. And for next year, oakton will end up second to last as they will have maybe 1 middie but will loose their whole defense and goalie and stud 2 middies and 3 attackers. CoY should just walk away with that rude defensive coach. |
Battlefield has something that Oakton faced only a few times this year. 7 solid scoring threat s in the starting line up. Madison very comparable to Battlefield. That’s what will make this a great game. |
Such hostility towards a group of young ladies. You obviously have no respect for women. I feel sorry for your wife and daughter, if you even have a daughter that plays. Hope you get the help you need. |
Can Battlefield with the draw vs. Oakton? Robinson didn't touch the ball for the first 9 minutes of yesterday's game vs. Oakton.
The draw and valuing possession will be key in the Final. |
I'm not sure why both sides needs to be such jerks trying to plead their case. |
The game gets decided by this right here. Oakton is very strong on the draw and circle. It may need to be a high scoring game as well. Only 3 teams held Oakton under 10 goals this year. |
Oakton is going to score, the question is can BHS win enough draws to keep up? |
And only 4 teams (Madison, South Lakes, Centreville, and Westfield) have managed to put up double digit scoring against Oakton defense. Oakton can beat you on Offense, Defense, and the Draw Possessions. |
Battlefield Parent here. I know many girls on the Oakton team. I wish them nothing but luck and that this is a great game on both sides. May the best team win, and all the girls stay safe and healthy during a true battle.
And to all the haters, you can say whatever you want about Battlefield. Trust me, they have heard worse all season. |
Looking forward to a great game #1 ranked Oakton (18-2) versus #3 ranked Battlefield (18-1). Not sure what better match-up anyone could want as phenomenal players on both teams and spirited fan base. This game should be close but potential for Oakton to dominate the draw and build a quick lead. Hoping Battlefield can neutralize this advantage and we have a competitive game.
Good luck to both teams on a great season! |
Simply put, both teams have earned the right to play in the championship game. Battlefield can’t help how the bracket is set up, and it has proven to be on par with some traditional powerhouses in Fairfax. Oakton has proven the skeptics and haters wrong all season and underscored that by going up 7-1 on Woodson and 8-0 on Robinson in route to comfortable wins. Congrats to both! It should be a great game. |
