Single Issue Voter: Controlling The Borders

Those of us who actually know something about our government understand that only US citizens can vote.
So you support limited mail-in voting and voter ID laws. Great!

Illegals voting is a civil rights violation. Citizens should be able to sue a jurisdiction that allows even one non eligible vote to be counted since it cancels out a citizens vote and takes away the citizens right to vote by cancelling it out.

Absolute bull$hit. According to the liberals here, Biden is a moderate democrat and he is the one that has caused this horrendous crisis. Only one democrat in congress has spoken out from the beginning about this mess - Henry Cuellar. Not one other democrat would admit there was a crisis.

Democrats would do nothing except allocate more money for processing and release. Democrats are the problem here. Vote them out.

If you want change, you’ll need a strengthened moderate democratic caucus.
Republicans aren’t capable of solving this crisis.
Oh, and I’ll never leave this thread alone. I’ll
Spam it well into the new year.

Frankly I’m sick of your crap.

DP. The relevant line is bolded. All you're doing is spamming and trolling nonsense that is easily disproved. I agree with the PP. Not one moderate Democrat - except Henry Cuellar - has spoken out. Not one. You have not one leg to stand on here.

I admit he border is broken and requires immediate action. However there is no need to lie to bolster your position. Senators Peters, Manchin, Warner and Sinema have spoken out against the crisis. Governors of Massachusetts and New York are speaking about the border disaster. And mayors from New York, Denver, El Paso , Chicago and even our very own DC are now overwhelmed and speaking harshly about the border crisis.

The problem is Biden needs progressives in order the beat Trump. They were never enthusiastic about Biden to begin with and now he is losing them quickly because of his support for Israel. If Biden does what most Americans want - a secure border, a rational immigration process, and deportations for those who entered the country illegally - he loses progressives who view such policies as racist.

Rock and a hard place for Biden.

But the border crisis is quickly becoming the major issue in American politics. More so than Dobbs, which really only affects women in red states. Sure, Dobbs will be important in Georgia and Nevada and a few other swing states. But now that unvetted illegals are overwhelming every corner of America - NY, Chicago, DC - and not just the border states, it's become a truly national issue. And even the vast majority of Democrats want a hard border. Do that though and you lose progressives.

Elections these days are won and lost on the margins. That's why the far right and the far left have so much sway, even though they both lack genuine popular support.

A parliamentary system really would be better.

“Illegals” don’t vote. They live in the shadows always afraid of being caught.

Just wait. Biden and the Dems will give them amnesty and then they’ll be able to vote.

Even in your tinfoil hat fantasy, these people will remain fearful and reduce every chance they can of interacting with government or being asked for ID.

There is a more positive insidious plan the Dems have - they don't need illegal immigrants to vote per se, they just need more of them because when they do the census they count the total population regardless of citizenship status. They then can dole out representative seats based on it. More illegal immigrants= more rep seats you get to control even though you're representing a bunch of foreign nationals and not US citizens.

Uh, no. The census is taken every ten years, so that's a hell of a long game to play, assuming that's the plan (it isn't). What's more, the complaint from the right is that illegals are invading THEIR states - you know, the red states that are ridiculously gerrymandered to assure nothing but Republican legislatures and congressional representation for generations to come. Try again.

Nah. I don’t think that’s accurate. Most of these people crossing the border will
Not be able to vote, but their anchor babies will. However, these anchor children will not vote Democrat because I believe they will be moderately conservative. And like the illegals immigrants before their parents who want to pull up the ladder of immigration, so will they.

I’m not sure I agree that he needs the likes of the Ocasio-Cortez voters. He needs the Independent
Voters to win. If the far-left wants another Trump in the White House and Republican controlled house and senate, so be-it. Their entire agenda is dead before it arrives. Biden needs to make a decision. Will

But they really don’t. They show up at the hospitals to deliver their fourth and fifth child at taxpayers expense. Then they show up at social services to receive WIC, TANF and Section 8 housing vouchers for their American born children. They come out of the shadows to send their children to public schools and suck up education dollars to subsidize the ESL programs. They drive without insurance and when they are the driver at fault, they scatter which is a cost to the other driver; thus raising auto insurance to others. So no, they do not live in the shadows. They are very much in the open.

Just like all the people posting here.

"But my parents came here legally!"

Right, as refugees. Or on an investor visa. And, btw, how did they get the funds for that investor visa from their tragically poor home country?

Or, "but they waited their turn!"

So are these people. I married a non-citizen, it's actually quite a process, the road to citizenship.

They cut and breaded the chicken nuggets you are reheating in the microwave to feed your children. They picked the organic NYState apples you slice for them to take to lunch. They are mostly Spanish-speaking, and this country has had Spanish-speakers as long or longer than it's had English speakers. In fact, many of these "illegals" as you call them, have more of a genetic relation to this country than your family does. I don't believe genetics should ever determine citizenship, but you do. You're just regurgitating all the same tired talking points, but again, you don't mow your own lawn. You eat in restaurants. You benefit from all aspects of the gray economy America has come to depend on. Your manicurist. Your waxer. Your uber driver. Your Irish bartender.

And let me ask again the question you keep refusing to answer: how long have your people been here?

I agree. I think AoC might be smart enough to distance herself from the progressives too. The tide is turning away from the radical left. They were loud, they were impractical, and they ran a lot longer than I thought possible by shaming other people into believing in them, but people are tired of that. Biden knows that. He should be fine.

And how any sane person can possibly think the power vacuum of another Trump presidency is a good alternative is one of those questions I puzzle over, and the only thing I can come up with is they are profoundly short-sighted and stupid as the progressive left.
