SATC New Season - And Just Like That...

Her experience was in corporate law. Bears no relationship to the human rights world. And who would get an intern to cover for the boss for an extended leave ? There are other people who actually work there.

Right? And at least for now, seems like an unnecessary storyline. We get it, the other interns don’t like her and her boss favors her due to her education and work history - all plausible. But an intern filling in for a high up employee during Mat leave? LOL, no.

Miranda had experience as a partner in a law firm. Perhaps no one else available had that kind of management experience.

I’m finding myself rooting for Aidan and Carrie now even though they were such a disaster the first time around. I think I’m just blinded by how much I like Aidan.

Same. I keep trying to remind myself they have nothing in common. But Aidan’s ex is in next week’s promo, so let’s see what’s up there. I can’t believe Carrie is already jumping to selling her apartment. What a dope.

I think they do use greener attorneys in more low-paid fields of law, so I totally buy Miranda being asked to cover a position. They probably don’t have that many highly experienced attorneys willing to work for next to nothing. Especially right now. So I bet they’re feeling really lucky to have her. Knowing the court system and how to do legal tasks correctly and ethically is probably half the battle—and those other interns don’t know that. Miranda can learn the other stuff more easily given her background.

I also think Charlotte learning some body positivity from the younger generation is great! I always wonder how these young people feel so confident wearing what they wear at any size—but they are doing it right and we were doing it wrong. So that was fun for me.

Aidan and Carrie are opposites, but they always had a way about them that I found endearing and plausible. Opposites attract, but they also enjoyed each other’s company and had good banter and conversation.

I do think it will implode. They aren’t canceling her relationship with Big—she’s probably still processing his death by jumping in with Aidan. A few episodes ago she faked Covid to get out of reading an upsetting chapter in her book.

I think (hope?) maybe her relationship with Aidan will end like a lot of couples’—they’ll simply learn they’re incompatible long term. The fantasy of what they could have been won’t live up to the day-to-day realities of life—for both of them. And they will part ways as good friends who still love each other but don’t need to be partners for life.

I’d be fine if they do end up together, but that’s not good for the show. And I really don’t think they are erasing Big/Carrie. I think that’s just her being in denial of the pain she’s in. Aidan has always been a comfortable pair of shoes for her. But in the end, she likes heels, so she’ll realize she made the right choice in choosing Big and the grieve him again.

If they are ending the series, I’m totally fine with her ending up with Aidan, even if they have nothing in common. But if not, I’m sure they will create some drama for them. I hope Aidan screws her over for once, to be honest.

I want more Lisa Todd Wexley.

Aidan always annoyed me, but always thought he was a nice guy and it's nice to see them getting back together. I'm surprised by the talk of Carrie (and was it Seema too?) suggesting that it was a mistake for her to get with Big instead of Aidan. That maybe the case, but she did say she was the happiest she'd in in her life when he died, didn't she?

Miranda was wise not to answer the Big question. There was no good answer to that.

I want a whole LTW spinoff. LTW, George Washington, and her fabulous wardrobe!

I’m going to revise my prediction. I think Carrie and Aidan are both grieving—he’s grieving his divorce and she’s grieving Big. They’ll realize that and part amicably. Leaving the door open for them to end up together at series end.

So I think that they will end the series in the original way they intended the SATC series to end- with her being comfortable and confident with being alone. In my opinion they will definitely “right that wrong” bc it’s more PC and “yay women”. She will come to realize it’s ok to be alone bc she’s not. The reboot sucks although I did like the last episode but that’s bc aiden is down to earth and she is an entitled brat. I mean you can’t appreciate a country house unless it’s a mansion- get over yourself! And the fashion this time around is it great. Contrived.
