And I guarantee you if he knew who Bass was, he would recommend her

The Black radio host used to practice law in California, pretty sure he knows who Bass is. Point still stands: Picking a Black woman isn't really beneficial. Blacks are voting for Biden no matter what. Lock up November choosing a relatable white woman. Warren has the substance or Whitmer has the it factor.

Whitmer as VP, Kamala as AG, Gavin Newsom asks Karen Bass to fill the Senate seat. Perfect.
Yes, this is a great idea. Julian Castro goes back to HUD; Pete Buttigieg goes to Veteran's Affairs; Val Demings goes to DHS; Jeh Johnson goes to the FBI; Susan Rice becomes Secretary of State; Erich Holder becomes director of the CIA; Michael Bennet becomes education secretary (and Jared Polis appoints a democrat to replace hime); Patty Murray becomes EPA secretary (Inslee appoints democrat to replace her); Sean Casten takes energy; Elaine Luria takes defense; Jeff Flake becomes interior secretary; Will Hurd at NSC; Stacy Abrams at SBA; Howard Dean at HHS; Keisha Bottoms becomes transportation secretary.

This is awful and not strategic at all. You just picked popular names.

Lol. I like all those people but just shook my head when I read it too. This isn’t fantasy football.

Heard on NPR well connected sources say it’s down to four women: Warren, Harris, Bass, Duckworth.

IF Biden selects a non-AA running mate, I think he could mitigate disappointment by releasing his AA cabinet (Rice and Harris...) and SC picks (Kruger) at the same time. Black voters aren't voting for VP in particular, they're voting for a whole administration.

I don’t actually Duckworth, at all. I don’t think she passes the readiness test at all.

Why is that? I think she’s be a great choice to tick a lot of boxes (since that seems to be important to Biden): woman, minority, vet, a known name, etc.

+1 More than twice as much legislative experience as Harris, executive and health care management experience through the VA, more foreign policy expertise than any prospect other than Rice, plus her military service. She absolutely meets the readiness bar and no one on the list would have stronger appeal to swing voters:

How do you think she compares to Bass? Just curious for opinion.

Hello? Darth Cheney? “Potatoe” Quayle??

I am certain Sarah Palin tanked McCain's chances.

Huh. As Trump gets crazier, and Biden leads by more...e the GOP stop campaigning in Texas... I’m a little more open to considering her. But I know I’m biased. I wanna see her kick asphalt, and implement a lot the help that is so much more appealing to people now than before. She is savvy enough to deal with others across the aisle. But I do think she is a turnoff for some Republicans. Doesn’t she have a townhall? I completely forgot to try to catch it!

Still think Bass is badass and would be less polarizing than Warren in terms of political position, and I find the rare possibility of someone with true service and humility leading our country, even if for one term, to be so powerful as an option. Americans are crushed and feel beaten down and we haven’t even gotten into the final days before election. We need wisdom guiding and hope inspiring.

Who’s the “her” here? Warren, Harris or Duckworth?

Debbie Stabenow takes agriculture; Whitmer appoints Elisa Slotkin to take over senate senate.

Great list! Strategic! Smart! Diverse! Haters will hate, tho.

Warren, apologies for not being clear. My prayer is that Harris puts country before party and replaces Barr and kicks ass from that perch. Warren has always been polarizing but the economy makes me curious to hear new approaches to repair. Bass is someone I have 100% confidence in. Just saying my risk tolerance for Warren’s impact is shifting a bit as I see the public more frustrated with the incumbent.

Yeah, lets make Elaine Luria, a dem in a swing district, give up her seat after one term. Lets make Jeff Flake, a republican senator with an AWFUL environmental record, the head of dept. of interior. Lets make Will Hurd, a republican war hawk, the head of NSC. And then lets replace a bunch of great senators uneccessarily. Democrats need to be strategic, this is not it.

They did the same thing with Demings and now you don't hear a word about her.

Its Kamala and always has been.

Sure Demings was floated then several articles trashed her police chief record. She also doesn’t meet the readiness bar. Just like several articles (you’ve ignored) have explained why Harris is problematic.

I really like them both, for different reasons. I feel more reassured by Bass, her experience and her temperament, and think her boost to AA turnout would be tremendous. Duckworth has the advantage (and disadvantage) of youth, does meet the readiness bar, but barely. I worry she’s a little unpolished and less articulate than Bass, but she would have terrific appeal to swing voters. So Bass is my no. 1, Duckworth my no. 2, but I’d be happy with either. Especially since Bass is also being discussed as potential House Speaker when Pelosi retires.
