My thoughts exactly. |

The US did not have good options in Poland and France either in 1939 and 1940. It’s either now ukraine wins or Putin wins and is further emboldened by his success.
Yes, the US has no good options, and Ukraine losing is the worst option. The US and Europe can absolutely sell for cheap jet fighters and anti aircraft systems to Ukraine, nobody is talking about US boots on the ground. A private Turkish company is selling arms to Ukraine and so could Europe and the US. |

Objectively Ukraine striking the plant and blaming Russia makes sense
It's sure to garner sympathy, perhaps get them more support and force against Russia and no one would believe that they did it. Plus destroy a valuable asset before the enemy does is not unheard-of. There's no " good reason" for Russia to strike the plant they know it will ramp up action and outrage towards them plus that functional plant would be a valuable asset to them. It's also possible it was an accidental hit by one or the other and blaming the other works because accidentally striking a nuclear plant makes you an idiot. |
And what do you think the outcome of that would be? Newsflash there's going to be no winning in this one just a spectrum of loss. |
The only reason that an accident could even occur is because Russia is currently invading the Ukraine. The entirety of what happens is solely the fault of the Russians |
But doesn't Russia now have possession of the plant? They had to have taken it somehow. Taking a power plant, and thus controlling electricity to much of the country makes sense. The fact that they took Chernobyl on the first day, and have now taken this plant is what makes me nervous. There is no strategic move to taking Chernobyl other than threatening a nuclear meltdown. |
Objectively, ukraine that lived through Chernobyl and whose own citizens and lands will be impacted by radiation while trying to fight off russian terrorists and killers, has zero to strike its own nuclear power plant. Stop with convoluted ways. Putin is blackmailing with nuclear accident, rather than dropping off a nuclear bomb, he’s basically trying to instigate a nuclear disaster. |
Outcome of ukraine winning? regime change in russia. |
Also, Ukraine winning could turn things around for Belarus. Ukraine losing? Putin stays on, emboldened, goes after Georgia, or Poland, or a nip of baltics, may be Kazakhstan. |
Si how will Russians know theirs is not "live-streamed?" |
And this is a typical russian propaganda line: that there is fake news and propaganda on BOTH sides, so a person doesn’t really know what to believe. And if both lines are not credible, then credibility comes not from logic but from who inherently the viewer trusts more, which is russian news for the russians. It’s actually an incredibly dangerous thesis to propagate. |
Live-streamed by whom? |

The same people who staged the moon landing in the Comet Ping Pong basement. Duh. |
