Discrimination against Asians

Should we all just sit back and let the chips fall as they may? We need to somehow level the playing field. If certain groups have differing ideas of how to educate and possess the means and extra time for all of this additional prep and practice, that must be considered to be an advantage. This is not racist and should apply to everyone living in the US. Should we just pull the wool over our eyes?

You are a racist. Most racists don't believe they are. They also tend to be fascist. You can't articulate what that singular education looks like -- the "American" education way -- but find fault in others because of race. It is the same argument that uneducated whites use in supporting Trump -- it was never their fault and always foreigners'. Ironically you find an ally in Fairfax democrats.

By dominating rather than assimilating, the many who left Asia will now make America more and more like China - which defeats the original purpose.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I think because our cultures are so vastly different, the Asians, namely Chinese, may be unable to appreciate this concept, nor do they seem to want to. Their culture doesn’t seem to be compatible with ours in a number of ways. How would any native born person in any other country of the world react, if droves of people from other countries were coming in trying to dominate education with whatever unethical means possible, and then claiming superiority. We are called racist and jealous if we question it. It’s madness.

I am not Chinese, but many accusations here.

Many accusations? How would people react to this “system” in any other country? People are entitled to their feelings and opinions and shouldn’t be referred to as being “racist”. It’s gaslighting.

Not the pp but what does "whatever unethical means possible" mean?
-Asian (not Chinese) whose kids don't take test prep classes

Unethical equals means trying to gain an unfair advantage over the majority. Again, this can apply to anyone of any race. It could be paying for a tutor when the student is average to above average, attending Kumon or any type of prep course, redshirting age/developmentally appropriate kids, and obviously good old fashioned cheating like paying someone to take your test.

What would happen if the roles/countries were reversed? Would the Chinese embrace and love and support the white students? I think not.

No, instead, I'll pose a counter question. Would Nigerians embrace and love and support the white American students? Would Venezuelans embrace and love and support the white American students? Would even a country like France embrace and love and support the white American students? Almost certainly not.

No kidding! My point is the Chinese, and all immigrants, are welcomed here and offered the same, if not more, educational opportunities as everyone else. If we question anything that may compromise our values here we are branded as racists. Sure, Americans of every race cheat, we don’t deny or condone that.

Are we not allowed to have “our” culture? All other countries have cultures. If you choose to move to the US you are free to continue living your own culture exclusively, and that is fine and widely accepted, or you can try to assimilate into “our” culture and become a asset to it. It’s your choice.

What is our culture? Is that black culture? Hispanic culture? Indian culture? Mexican culture? What is it?
