Why hold a pro-gun rally *on* MLK Day?

Instead of reflecting on his great work and words we will be worried about more gun violence. It’s disrespectful at a minimum. It’s blatant hate & racism at worst.

Disgusting.

Lol is this your first time hearing about lobby day? I know you hate rights, so I guess we can add the right to assembly to your list of evil.

Holding a pro-gun rally on MLK Day is disgusting. That’s probably a bigger draw to the white supremacists than the gun rights. Have fun with your very fine friends.

Looking at past years, it seems they hold it each year in the third Monday of January. Last year it was on Jan 21, the year before that Jan 15.

I think you are assuming bigotry.

Right. MLK Day is the third Monday of January.

Hopefully the new General Assembly fixes this.

Based on historical analogy, We will likely face incredible violence and chaos for the reminder of our lives. Virginia may be the first spark of the conflagration to come. Wow. Speaking of off the rocker...

You guys are hungry for a civil war. Scary.

I don't think the PP is hungry for a civil war - she's just pointing out a historical observation that others have made. New communication technologies disrupt society and politics in unpredictable ways.

Thanks for sharing. Supports my theory that humanity is doomed. Or at least the US as we knew it.

As Snyder suggests, I’ll make sure my passport is up-to-date.

Yeah? What components, exactly?

Which components, exactly? Do tell!

What I find telling about the ignorance of the gun-grabbers is that they consider a bayonet mount as one of the "evil features" that defines a so-called assault weapon. An M1 carbine without a bayonet lug would be legal under the terms of their proposed assault weapon law. The same gun with a bayonet lug would be considered an assault weapon, and would be illegal.

What I'm wondering is this: What is it about a bayonet lug that makes a gun with that feature so dangerous? How many people in the entire USA have been bayonetted to death in the past 150 years? I would bet that the answer is NONE. But that doesn't stop the gun-grabbers. They'll use any excuse they can to make life difficult for law-abiding gun owners and to grab as many guns as they can.

For some reason, no one has addressed this poster's question, which seems a reasonable one. Just what is it about bayonets that is so scary? I don't own any rifles with bayonet fixtures, but don't see what's so bad about them.

Maybe ask the “they” who PP references. I don’t know any individuals who are pushing to have these banned.

Link to proposed legislation banning these?

You're an adult. Able to use google.

Search "bayonet mount banned feature". That will be all you need.

I’m not the one asking about it...if you want to discuss brings some facts, not just “they”.

Is this really a local issue if militias from other states are traveling to VA for this protest?

And mounting a bayonet reduces accuracy too.

I think it’s because a bayonet is inherently a weapon of war. So attaching them to a gun reinforces the notion that the gun is really intended for something other than a legitimate civilian need like hunting or household protection.

I think it's because a bayonet turns a scary black gun into a scarier black sword-gun.

And, tomorrow, think about going to the protest and leaving your guns and weapons at home, just like the woman's marchers did.

Exactly. The VA organizers have really screwed up.

Our Constitution applies across all states. So all Americans are free to demonstrate/protest they choose.

+1

They gave away “lobby day” to the white nationalists. They lost their voice. Now it’s not about gun control in VA. It’s about what TF the imported nut jobs want it to be. Good luck with that.

Hopefully it’s a dud, but if anything does happen it just makes the pro-gun nuts look bad.
