I think it is fascinating that he is 1/2 Korean and looks mixed. His 8 kids are all 1/4 yet they certainly don't look it. It is strange that not even one kid looks like Kate.

Huh? I am Asian as are many of my friends and their kids look a lot like our mixed kids... not sure what you’re talking about. The kids are cute!

It is interesting. I know four different kids in three different families who are 1/4 Korean and if you didn’t know it, it would never occur to you that they had one Korean grandparent. Genetics can do funny things and is a fascinating subject.

This is one of those things where I think that they had fertility issues and Kate, in particular, really wanted another baby. She wanted multiples, and refused to have them reduce.

She got pregnant with multiples and, after having struggled with infertility, could not bring herself to selectively reduce. Honestly, I don't think I could have done it either.

How she got pregnant with multiples wasn’t standard practice at the time. Her obsession put her and her children’s lives at risk.

Ugh, who the hell cares? Seriously, she did not plot to have 6 kids in order to become a famous reality show personality. Have you even seen what Kate looked like when she first did the Discovery Health documentary? She was frumped out, exhausted, with a baggy stomach from having carried 6 babies all at once. The deal with TLC was like winning the lottery - a dream but not something you could ever plan on doing. How people don't get that is beyond me.

She was obsessed with the Iowa family who got all sorts of “free stuff” with the birth of their sextuplets. Kate wanted attention and “free stuff.” She had been trying to market her twins for modeling before she became pregnant. I would not have put it cast her to try to market herself to tv shows. It’s like she did win the Lottery. Many lottery winners have money but have completely cut off family and friends. Just like Kate.

Again, look back at what Kate looked like when she did that first Discovery Health documentary. She was about as frump as frump could be. Why? Because she was taking care of 8 kids full time plus working on the weekends. Jon was spending his days at an IT job that he HAAATTTEEED.. But now he claims that he wanted his "normal life" back. So, ya know, the whole stripper thing, waiting tables and a bachelor pad for his ONS. Gimmee a break.

Kate is the one that provided for their kids. Kate is the one who raised their kids. And, now that the work is nearly done, Jon is back in the picture second guessing every damn thing that she did. Explain how sending the kids off to live with their stripper father would have been in those children's best interests?

Pre-fame, She had multiple nurses and frequent help from church members but drove them all away with her nasty attitude. She was not raising those kids when she was running around in hotels with her bodyguard. She wouldn't even let Jon take the kids while she was traveling and left them with nannies just to be spiteful

All of the families of multiples get help initially. But they will also all tell you that after awhile people stop coming to help you. You don't have to run them off, they have lives of their own to lead and they simply fade away. The level of help that they got at first wasn't going to last. Kate knew that. She also knew that Jon wasn't up to the task of watching all 8 by himself. Honestly, that is probably why she had a nanny at the house full time and the TLC crew coming in daily to help Jon with the kids. Jon was careless and didn't always use great judgement watching the kids and I think Kate was legitimately concerned about his ability to handle all 8 by himself. She knew that if she needed help, he absolutely did. But there is a price that came with all that help and Jon didn't want to pay it.....so he left to go wait tables and strip.

If you berate people, bark orders, criticize their every move and treat them like hired help no they won't stick around. And I'm not referring to her treatment of Jon

Right. But the alternative is to have family/friends who don't follow your directions and do dumb things like give your 2 year olds chewing gum to get all over everything. I think the people meant well but in the long run that kind of "help" is aggravating. Kate decided to turn to the professional hired hands of TLC for help with childcare and that was certainly within her right to do so.

The fact that some of the slighted friends/family are now choosing to bash Kate publicly and air their dirty laundry only proves the fact that Kate made the right decision to end their involvement. I'm sure that the TLC crew listened, followed her directions and helped out in a professional way that Kate needed.

She and other family members were loving and supportive of those kids.

It’s sad now. the twins special guest at their birthday party is their hair dresser. 5+ years from now he’s just some rando. They are still estranged from their family.

I find both Kate and John boring so don’t pay too much attention to their drama but to all of those saying he was shut out and didn’t have money to fight for custody- BS. He had enough of a public persona to have gotten legal advice from some attorney wanting the limelight. Not to mention he could have sucked it up and done a special for the show to raise money for a court fight. He could have even filed motions himself like many other parents who have few resources but fight to see their kids.

Imagine if it had been Kate that basically walked away and didn’t fight for more involvement with her children- she would be shredded for being a bad mother and he’d be admired for taking on the work of raising them alone. Ridiculous- such a double standard even from other women!

I think the idea of that many children is nuts, and they were dumb to do it. But they did & she’s done a lot more to keep them afloat than he has. And to the person criticizing her for getting a tummy tuck- did you see what that pregnancy did to her body? Was she supposed to never care about her appearance again? I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to give up on doing anything for myself ever because I had children. No one knows the real details of their relationship so why vilify either of them?

There are plenty of teenage celebrities that are used to being in the spotlight. They aren't babies anymore, their dad hasn't been a part of their lives for awhile and if they are comfortable being on camera with their mom why shouldn't they be able to do so?

Jon is being vindictive at this point and just hurting Kate because he can. Ironically, Jon is the one hitting the talk shows and dishing out embarrassing little tidbits about his ex wife and his own children.
