Why? Who gets to decide what is acceptable or not? |
LOL. Sure. Whatever you say! |
Not OP, but why? To whom? What if I’m not sitting around, but working out, taking care of pets, house, kids, and maybe other relatives and friends? Why is that unacceptable to you? If I had an office job that was not saving the world, or even my old job—helping defend big corporations against fraud charges (!) would that be acceptable? Is that actually better? Feeling like you are the arbiter of acceptability must be amazing. |
PP thinks very highly of herself! |
hahah! You have to be a troll, there really can't be people like you! You'll love this. Early on in my marriage before kids I was a SAH to my toy poodle! Great times. Went to the pool, got certified in scuba to dive the John Pennekamp reef among others. We traveled and lived over seas for a time. Now I sit on my butt, and am a contributing viewer to various tv shows. It's enjoyable and acceptable! |
I'm pretty happy, watching The Real right now. Where's my Bonbons!!!! |
I commend anyone devoted to making sure their kids become responsible, principled adults, whether WOH or SAH, so save the sanctimommy. |
May I ask, are you too "good" to be a sign-spinner? (or other type of sign-based outdoor active-marketing?) To explain, you stand in front of a retail location, normally on a busy thoroughfare and spin a large rectangular sign in creative & exciting ways. It is a VERY popular form of marketing for mattress AND electronics after-market retailers, among others. It's also a great workout and fun way to interact with the community on an honest, visual basis. OK? |
Lady, everyone knows what sign spinning is. |
|
Where I live this (SAH even after youngest starts school) is fairly common so I can’t say I’ve gotten any comments about it. Literally the only one I can think of is from my WOH SIL (what DO you do ALL day?)
Maybe it’s your area Op? Or your circle of friends? |
Then go DO IT already! Nothing is stopping you from achieving your dreams. |
Are you aware this is no charge to do it and, in fact, you can be paid? |
Omg! You mean I do not have to pay to stand on a corner and spin a giant sing around? Alleluia. |
I am very well educated, which enabled me to get a high paying job, which enabled me to save a ton of money and which enabled me to also find a spouse who was well-educated and high earner. As a result, I am now a SAHM, I help my kids with their homework and enrichment. My kids (DD and DS) are high achievers. They will also have my support in the college application process and will likely get into a high paying STEM based field at college. I will pay for their education, so they will not have college debt. I will be around to help them with their kids so that their life becomes easier. Being an educated wealthy SAHM allows me to help my kids and grand-kids. So, yes, my DDs will work but, they will work SMART not work HARD. |
| gotta enable those white men. |
