Delusional parents on this board do!

As opposed to the obsessive parents on this board who don’t like all the poor Hispanic kids at their school and think moving other kids from an under-enrolled school moved into crowded Herndon will solve their problems.

No, it should be done properly. Send the rich white kids from HERNDON to Herndon schools! Duh!

PP again, it’s about zip code. It’s about SES - the rich kids from Herndon and Reston never should have been moved away from their home school and went to a rich school. So do what it right and move them back.

I think we should know by now that nobody is moving out of Langley at this point. It's about who is moving in. And, if people think it's ok to bus kids 16 miles into Langley, then there is no reason that Lake Anne or Forest Edge in Reston can be bussed there, too. If those neighborhoods are ok with it, then Herndon neighborhoods can go to South Lakes.

Of course, that doesn't resolve McLean's problem. Maybe the best thing to do at this point is to move Timberlane to Langley.

Timber Lane is not moving to Langley. It’s closer to Falls Church and Marshall than it is to McLean, much less Langley.

They will end up moving Tysons apartments and condos.

If you want your kid to go to school with poor Hispanic kids, you can certainly do that! You can buy a very nice house in the Herndon school district, and then your kids can enjoy the wonderful, glorious, enriching diversity at HMS and HHS.

But you won't do that. "Diversity for thee but not for me" is your motto. You're a nauseating hypocrite.

And, just who would go to Langley? Pray tell. It borders Arlington County and Mclean. Who are the logical students for Langley?

Zip codes and communities are two different things. I don't think there are that many kids from Herndon and Reston going to Langley. Which ones are?

Who goes to Herndon from outside of Herndon?

Some of the wealthiest parts of Reston and Herndon go to Langley. The areas in Herndon are less than four miles from Herndon High but they travel 1 hr each way to go to Langley.

I looked at the boundary maps. Which parts of Herndon, please?

The whole Sugarland area and houses off of Reston Ave (look for Safa Rd - unbelievably that it Langley) . The parts of Reston are all the nice neighborhoods/houses off of Reston Parkway Between baron Cameron and Rt 7 and the Reston neighborhoods off Rt 7.

Are these the neighborhoods that go to Forestville? Is that why they send those kids to Langley? That kind of makes sense, if that is the case. Especially, since Langley is underenrolled.

Let's face it. The population as a whole is growing. The real solution is to build the new western high school stat along with more affordable housing and apartments in the Langley and McLean districts. This would not only relieve overcrowding and reduce student commutes, but also the reduce the commute of blue collar parents (nannies, day care workers, laborers, retail workers, restaurant workers, etc.) who work in and around Langley HS / McLean HS districts.

Northwest Reston. Western side of Baron Cameron minus the neighborhoods that go to Forestville/Langley.

That is not exactly true. According to the FCPS website, 75% of Fairfax residence don't have children in public school. As far as building affordable housing in the Langley or McLean district the land makes that cost prohibitive. Great Falls doesn't have the infrastructure for it at all. Both elementary schools are on well and septic. There are very few actual fire hydrants in GF much to the chagrin of the fire department.
