My creep alarm went off immediately. At the time, I thought I was overreacting, but I asked my husband to immediately go over there and supervise.

They hide in plain sight and I absolutely believe he developed tricks over the years. Would not be shocked if inappropriate touching occurred with my daughter before I noticed the situation in my own backyard full of kids and parents.

Thank you for sharing this here. It clearly demonstrates how important it is to be constantly vigilant at these events. Some of these men are obviously out to assault the children.

Here is 20:59.

I agree that mr Knick knack is creepy, and the mom spotted the creepiness and had her husband go over. My point exactly. I’ve never seen him at a party, but that’s extremely creepy and whatever he was trying to get away with, he couldn’t, because parents are always there. He’s definitely creepy and shouldn’t be near one child. We don’t disagree there.

What exactly makes you think he's such a "creepy" man?

Well, the story the mom told is creepy. Songs like, ‘obey me’ are creepy which are on YouTube. A girlfriend told me that she saw him with her kids and he’d pat the kids on head, while they we’re playing banjo. He’s damn creepy.

Perhaps your girlfriend saw more than she wanted to discuss with you at the time. Perhaps she should share everything with the investigators. The police are now asking anyone who may know anything useful, to get in touch with them...... It’s the Fairfax County Police Department. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was.

She tells me everything and said it was one of the mall shows. She said it was patting on the head and hugs , in front of parents, after show.

NP. I don’t know Knock Knack and I’m not talking about pedos or creeps, but is it really considered so creepy for a man to pat a child on the head?? What about a woman? I know we live in the DC area which is uber “donttouchmykid,” but really?

Um, child pornographer. Yes, this initial public contact is Classic Grooming 101. Every one of these criminal perverts needs to go where they belong.

Do not allow your child to get close to these men. An assault takes only half a second before your own eyes while you think the man just is hugging your kid because he’s so cute. Protect your child from these predators.

What do you mean, ‘these men’? Mr Knick knack is one creepy, horrible person, who indulged in something horrible. Most men are not child predators. You’re painting with a broad brush.

I don’t trust men who want to be with kids so much. Something isn’t quite right. Would you want him to corner your kid after an event?

Public performances is how they market themselves for the private events.
Not true. These mall and public events pay a lot to have performers there. I have a friend that worked for the marketing department at Potomac mills and they would pay their performers in the 400 dollar range.
I have another friend that was a librarian at a branch in Rockville and they would pay anywhere from 300 to 500 for performers. These shows are usually free to the public, but are paying their performers well.

I doubt Rockville Library ever paid $500.00 for any kids entertainment. That’s totally crazy. Public libraries never have that kind of funding.

Some performers do the public events for free since it's great advertising for them. I know we've found birthday party performers that way.

The libraries in MoCo do have a budget for events, some funded by the separate non-profit (Friends of the Library) that has more flexibility on spending. It's plausible that performers did get paid to perform at a library.

Agreed. Not all men are like this. We can point to other heinous crimes by other criminals, yet we shouldn't paint all people of that same "type" (gender, race, age, etc) with the same brush.

These men have no business hugging any child at these shows. None.
