Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| The Hispanic students I work with wear skimpy clothes to attract boys. They refuse clothing that fits them. They tell me they don’t want to wear clothes that are baggy because those clothes are for boys. No, those are girls clothes that fit. They would rather get detention than wear clothes that fit. Their mothers and sisters and aunts dress the same way. It has nothing to do with not having money for clothes that fit them. |
| The only thing the union does is collect your money to play their politics. Protection is ancient history unless you are a tenured teacher who is bad at their job. New teachers are fresh meat for the wolves. You will find out the hard way if you're an idealist. |
Racist Racist Racist Not all Hispanic girls dress alike. I don’t know how people like you even survive with half a brain and no heart. |

Yellow people by enlarge have a totally different culture at home. They are 1) taught to honor, 2) taught the importance of not creating problems for their parents, 3) value education and 4) are supported in education at home.
I thought it interesting when I came into this county that the Gazette (probably in 07') had a Disparity of Races in Education right on the front of the paper that had categories for the races and offenses. All the offenses across the board were the same offenses with the tally of who the 4 major races compared. Of course Asians were at the top of races who had much fewer incidences. An AA Council Member was quoted in asking this, "If Asians are minorities too, why aren't their scores higher and more suspended?" Go figure. I thought the answer was obvious. Asians take great pride in raising well behaved children who work really hard to apply themselves in areas that are going to promote an advantageous lifestyle not only for their own families but also for their communities. I've seen a major decline since this news article was written. The bad kids are running the hallways and the schools. The board member who asked the most bigoted question in that article and who blamed the teachers, namely white of course, for the disparity and suspensions of AA's and Latinos went on to be voted into much higher political aspirations. There you have it people. Political gain overwhelming supported in this county - well over the hard working and caring teachers who we entrust our children to everyday. Political gain begets the sacrifice of incredible teachers and sweet children who parents don't realize they are sending them into a war zone each and every day they go to school. What are we to say about the children who's cries aren't answered but silenced? Hmmm. I don't think it would take a genius to figure that one out. Just listen to WTOP and you'll be hard pressed to find out if they matter at all. Also, at the beginning of every school year a principal has 2 weeks to establish authority to be taken seriously. Kid's know real quick what they can get away with especially if there's no backbone in leadership. Teachers SHOULD always be supported by administration and not in fear of losing their jobs because of politics. No support = no support. Enough games for God's sake, we are talking about our Teachers and the health of our students! |
| The above reply was in response to a question on page 17, "What about yellow people?" |
| It's true that with racial tensions high white teachers who are trying to teach students to respect themselves are being met by angry principals that act like assault is African and Latino culture. A student cusses a teacher out- that what their culture is. No repercussions. |
Uhh??? |
Dear tenure and union obsessed poster, Seek help in finding closure. Namaste, DCUM |
PP didnt say ALL hispanic girls dressed as described. Is it okay to say blacks sudents performance poorly in MCPS? Is it okay to say Hispanic students dont do well in MCPS? Is it okay to say white students do better in English language than Black, Hispanic, and Asian students in MCPS? Why everything has to be called racist? The biggest racist is MCPS because they love to divided students based on their skin color, from acadamic performance to discipline. |
| I wore short skirts in high school to attract boys. That didn't make me a slut. I didn't sleep with them. I just wanted to feel pretty. There's nothing wrong with the female body. It kind of disturbs me that a teacher thinks there is. |
WHAT? There are plenty of girls who don't need to feel pretty. And by your definition, pretty = attention from boys. Boys aren't thinking about how pretty you are if you're wearing a short skirt. They're thinking about how they can get you to sleep with them. This is some warped thinking. And no, I'm not victim-bashing at all. I'm questioning your insecurity. I hope you've outgrown this. |
Let me see if I can make sense of this. There are tensions between white teachers and minority students. If a white teacher addresses a behavior, it's often viewed as being racist - "You don't understand the culture." But the opposite is the case, too - that if a minority student cusses out a white teacher, it's overlooked. I think I captured it. I will say that cursing out a teacher is a joke these days- probably the lowest behavioral issue on the ladder. sad but true |
Students come to school to learn. Flashing your skin doesn't help yours and the boys’s education. |
Wow. I had no idea. |
It doesn't harm it either. |
