You really are unable to see reality objectively. The girl WAS complying. She was walking away and the cop didn't like what she had to say so he chased her down and tackled her. I just watched and rewatched the video and no, the kid did not look like he was reaching into his pocket--he was pulling up his trunks and the cop did not have his eyes on him anyway. Those kids saw a cop hurting their cousin and tried to help her. Instinct. The cop was absolutely wrong to pull his gun instead of his mace, taser, or baton, and the other cops know this which is why they rush in and stop the whole thing. This is a fourteen year old teenager who has a mouth like any other other fourteen year old teenager, but in the end is just a kid who calls out for her mother. The fact that anyone can continue to defend the action sof the police because some kids trespassed baffles me. The behavior is what I expect form teens. I absolutely do not expect or want that kind of behavior from my LEOs. Why are you so willing to accept it? Because it hasn't happened to you? |
I t appears she left before the cops showed up |
I doubt the HOA has the authority to kick somebody out of their home. They don't hold title to that deed.
|
You can't beat someone's ass because they say something you don't like. In that case I'm sure you and plenty of others would have gotten your ass beaten plenty in your lifetime. |
Ignorance at its best. Did we watch the same video? The girl WAS leaving. The police walked behind her and dragged her back. That girl talked back to the cop...does her talking back equate to him using excessive force? I think not. That guy was high off on something...if not drugs or alcohol than power. He needs to be fired. |
Good point. I don't believe they can (or should) be kicked out, but certainty deserve a heavy fine and losing all communal privileges for a while. |
Maybe because it will never happen to me-I have been stopped by asshole cops-aggressive ones on a power trio (as well a nicer ones)-the bottom line is if you are polite and compliant, there will be no trouble-this holds true for every race. Who the fuck curses at an officer, especially a kid? I think if their parent's have not taught them basic respect for authority, then they get what they sdeserve from an angry cop! |
[b] Welcome to the USSR. |
From Slate: "Ttwinzz Promotions, by the way, does not appear to be a big-time outfit—its Instagram account indicates that the McKinney event was only the second it had ever organized. The 15-year-old who shot the video of Casebolt taking down Becton told BuzzFeed that (in that publication's words) "many students had arrived at the end-of-school celebration at the pool on guest passes" while "some had also jumped over the fence." So what we seem to have here is a gathering for teenagers, hosted by area teenagers who are also self-described party planners, which became larger than residents were comfortable with. Look at it one way and it's a "mob scene;" look at it another and it's police overreacting to local kids getting together at the end of the school year." |
Good point. I would like to beat this posters ass right now due to her utter ignorance. |
Did you see the video of the two black men who were shot and were complying with police officers. One police officer has already been sent to prison and the other officer was just indicted. I have two friends who are cops. One is a standup person, the other one is a real hot head and I wouldn't put it above him to do something like this. Cops are regular people like anyone else, they have faults, flip out, etc. They also have high rates of domestic violence, around 40% from what I last read. Why were there other cops around but this cop was the only one acting wild and crazy? I think you want to believe all cops are good people, but the simple fact is they aren't all good. |
I actually never heard her curse...but even if she had it doesn't give him the right to arrest her.. Listen to how he's talking to them. He's cursing. He's the only one out of control. From the flip, to the cursing, to running around and putting everyone in hand cuffs. |
Reposting the interview with the boy who filmed the video, in case anyone missed it. He clearly states that the officer skipped over him, but made all the black kids get down. He also looks visibly upset as he talks about how they were treated. He says he also found out about the party on Twitter, suggesting that the pool crashes were not all AA. Of course, this is 'he said, she said' at this point--but it offers a different perspective on how events transpired from the AA McKinney resident. |
You tell me. You all are the one making this about race rather than a mother and daughter breaking HOA regs |
Nope, welcome to the Broken Windows approach that was first implemented in NYC and then, given huge reduction in violent crime, replicated across the country. If you have a better approach to deal with thugs and thugs-in-training, why don't you test it out in Baltimore. They seem to need one. And, if successful, I can promise you it'd be quickly implemented by scores of police departments. |
