Yet no one here wants to hold them accountable because they were black. Which is why they knew they could get away with it. And when a black man stands up to defend his neighborhood and the officers, he's shouted down as a liar. The inability of people not to see this objectively is astounding.

I've watched the video twice now. It's upsetting....to the point of tears. How anyone can watch how he treats that girl and be okay with it, is just beyond me. For some reasons this invoked thoughts of the movie "Twelve Years a Slave", the way he treats her...seriously at a loss for words.

You really and truly need help. Your generalizations are so far over the top it is ridiculous. Your belief that black folks are not held accountable for transgressions is so far removed from reality it is sickening. Anyway, who is calling the resident a liar, who? Lots of people are saying lots of things. He has a right to his perspective. But his perspective is also just that, he did not see everything that happened -- he could not have been at all points of the party at all times. Hey, I have no doubt that there were way too many kids at the event. That's the ignorant stuff many teens do(white, black or rainbow colored). However, that does not justify the woman who allegedly used racial slurs, and slapped someone. It also does not excuse the one officer's over reaction and unprofessional behaviour. The other cops were de-escalating the situation, and Barney Fife all doped up on red bull and adrenaline tackles a teenager. GTFOH!

Only the crazy officer. The other officers diffused a situation. That poor girl will now get a nice paycheck curtesy of the McKinley Texas taxpayers for her pain, suffering, and humiliation. Chi Ching.

Sadly, that will likely be the case-along with a couple of riots and some looting for good measure. What does this reinforce to lawbreakers (esp. ones of color)-break the law, disrespect police, cuss them, do not listento them-just cry racism and get a free ride! This type of thing will only get worse.

Bigot you intentionally mistook the post. That girl will deserve every penny she gets. How would you like for some man to push your teenage daughter to the ground and whip her around by her hair. Close your eyes and imagine this girl as your daughter, niece, or maybe you. You automatically assumed she broke the law, based on nothing but the color of her skin. Why? And I have worked in law enforcement. My husband is in law enforcement. Shit, if every time somebody mouth off to law enforcement and the officer retaliated with a beat down or shooting, we would cease to be the United States. Hello, Iraq, ISis, el Salvadore, Sudan. Is that what you want? This girl is not getting a free ride. I am pretty sure she would rather not have been treated to such treatment. And if you were not a racist yourself, you would see that this officer only focused on the Black teens and not any of the white teens. That is racist, especially since some of the white kids also jumped the fence and some of the Black kids either lived there, or had visitor passes. But hey, they're Black, so according to you, Fuck Them.

Which is it Willie Lynch, black folks can be trusted or they cannot be trusted -- you are contradicting yourself.
Oh- and we did not miss the irony of bolded statement

Anonymous wrote:So what has to happen, PPs, for you to agree that there is a problem of police brutality perpetrated against people of color in this country?

It sounds like what you guys are in search of is the "perfect victim." I don't know how you expect that to happen, because the police are not going to show up unless someone in the immediate area is perceived to be breaking the law. Mmm m

Expect more of your public servants. The idea that a teenager being kicked out of a party has a larger responsibility to behave appropriately and with respect than does a sworn officer of the law is offensive. You PPs' attempts to absolve the officer of guilt in this situation are offensive.

I'm not absolving this officer of guilt. Clearly he needs a different career.
I'm also not absolving the teens of guilt for trespassing or alleviating their parents of their responsibility to raise respectful citizens.

I see 50+ kids crashing a party they weren't invited to.
I see no parents making an effort to know what their children were doing. I know what my kids post on the internet because i make it a point to. If nothing else, for their own safety. And when they say "I'm going here" I pick up the phone and verify that they are in fact going where they say they are.

How do you know which kids were invited? Many of the kids invited were Black, and some of the Black, invited teens were handcuffed. Also, some of the crashers were White.

So you saw 50+ kids who were Black and assumed they are all crashers. You made an assumption about children solely based on the color of their skin. I.E. you are prejudiced.

And swearing that you "know what your kids are doing" is just like the shipbuilders calling the Titanic unsinkable. One of these days, those kids of yours will surprise you and make you eat your arrogant words.

Wait... show me in the PP where I said I saw 50 Black kids? I said nothing of the such. I said I saw 50 KIDS (50 perhaps being the only exaggeration there since I admit I didn't count). This is you escalating a situation by jumping to conclusions and making assumptions. The very same thing you're wanting to torch this police officer for doing. If you want justice, consider taking a higher road. You're not going to win support by being belligerent, obtuse, or accusing people of being prejudice when they said nothing of the sort.

No one knew which kids were invited or uninvited specifically because instead of cooperating with the authority of the law they mouthed off and made the job of every one of those police officers harder than it needed to be.

Be it arrogant or not, but if I'm going to be held legally accountable for the shit my kids do, I'm going to know about it. That's called parenting, and while it may not be right for every family, it's right for me. When your kids realize early on they can't get away with things, they stop pulling it. You're right though. My DD was offered a full ride academic scholarship. I sure was shocked!

+1. What you say is right, and obviously so.

But some PPs are in love with scum--probably because it is their own.

What are you talking about?? When you say scum, you must be referring to the grown woman who screamed racial insults at teenagers and assaulted one of them. Or do you mean the officer who ran around screaming obscenities at half-naked teenagers? The same officer who couldn't let a smartass crack from a teenager walking away roll off his back and instead snatched her from behind and restrain her even though she was leaving, in a bikini so obviously unarmed, and was in no way a physical threat to him?

Or maybe by scum you mean the person you see when you look in the mirror.

I believe that poster is referencing herself and all her family.

And this is where the main problem lies-you have lawbreakers who cry racism every time they are reprimanded by the police (or they cry police brutality if they are the same race as the officer). Yes, police can be jerks, and trigger happy and even excessive with force, but you have a society of people and teens who are so disrespectful and think the law does not apply to them, Parents need to stop acting like entitled assholes, and their teens need to be taught the same. There are two young black boys in the video who were told to sit and they complied-the cop was ok with them-he even went over to them and explained as a mentor or father would, why they were in trouble and made to sit, I do not think this was a racial issue-it was a situation that could have easily turned into a mob riot-tons of kids thinking that laws and rules do not apply to them, and a few cops trying to control the situation. The girl that was taken down deserved it-she refused to leave and was running her mouth in a disrespectful manner-had she just complied, nothing would have happened to her, As for the cop pulling his gun, he had every right to do so after being rushed from behind by two teens-one of whom looked as if he was reaching into his pocket, People need to take responsibility for their behavior, if the race card is pulled every time a lawbreaker gets caught, or "mistreated: by the police, there may as well be no laws or police-just let these people run amuck doing as they please. That girls mother should whip her ass for behaving the way she did. The cop was just doing his job. I only wish the cops sent to that scene were black-then what would the excuse be?

I guess we live among people who believe the police are allowed to be as obnoxious and abusive as possible as long as you are guilty of even the most minor of crimes.

And in the case of the girl, her crime was obeying orders but talking back, which apparently leads to a cop chasing, pinning, and mauling you.

Super.

Benet Embry, a 43-year-old black resident, saw things differently.

Embry has lived at Craig Ranch, a planned community in McKinney, for eight years. He said it's a nice place. Racially diverse. People get along there.

He said when was at the community pool Friday, a crowd of teenagers showed up -- even though Craig Ranch's strict homeowners' association rules prohibit bringing more than two guests to the pool.

The teens huddled by the gate and shouted to let them in. Some jumped over the fence, Embry said. A security guard tried to get them to leave but was outnumbered, so the guard called police.

"Let me reiterate, the neighbors or the neighborhood did not call the police because this was an African-American party or whatever the situation is," he said. "This was not a racially motivated event -- at all. This whole thing is being blown completely out of proportion."

Embry did say he was disturbed to see the officer kneel on top of the bikini-clad girl and wave his gun and other teens.

"I may or may not agree with everything that the police officer did, but I do believe he was trying to establish order," he said.

People keep throwing in these red herrings. Trying to victim blame. Who cares about any of that stuff. Who said what, who called the police, invite or no invite. We are talking about unarmed teenagers, who were seemingly pretty respectful outside of the mouthy girl. Let's focus on the truth here, that cop had no business running behind that girl, dragging her and slamming her the way he did. He can be heard shouting obscenities and using force throughout the video. Obviously an abuse of his power. My hats off to the other two officers who conducted themselves appropriately.

the one officer was out of line. im not sure why some of you refuse to admit this as if doing so shows you are against police or something. do the eyeball test with this. the guy is running around barking orders, pulling his gun out for no reason, and slamming a girl on the concrete. this is not the behavior of an officer who is trying to defuse any sort of situation.

and some of you need to stop with the monday morning quarterbacking of trying to piece how all of this started to "justify" violence towards these kids. the wannabe party promoter was wrong for throwing a party in a neighborhood she doesnt live in. many of the kids who showed up werent there to cause trouble. the ones who did cause disturbances did not look like they were the ones caught in this video. if anything, they are just standing around being normal teenagers watching things unfold until being told to walk away or something. the kids in the video had no weapons. i feel like some of you present all this information as if the police had this knowledge when they appeared at the scene. all you are doing are "blaming the victim" when you try to find the most unflattering pieces of information on the people involved in these assaults.

again, the fake promoter was wrong. the kids that showed up and caused a disturbance were wrong. the kids in this video do not seem be part of the latter group. the officer acted completely wrong.

its very simple to assign appropriate blame and not try to paint a broad brush and blame one group over another. i can sit here and say all those officers acted wrong and watching the video that is clearly not the case. i think some of you can do the same thing in saying that not all the teenagers who attended the party were simply there to cause a disturbance and be wrong.

Well said, except the last sentence. They would make up some excuse, have no doubt about it.

The HOA should heavily fine the homeowners who invited all these people-they did not get permission, or pay the fees and created a very dangerous situation by inviting well over the limit of people allowed at a party. (read the HOA guidelines for that community). The neighbors were tolerant till things started getting out of hand. The 19 (actually 20) year old is a rparty promoter and actually goes into private pools to promote these events-and charges fees. She has no right to do this-even in the development where she lives. She and her mother should be charged-and hopefully kicked out of their home for violating every rule in the book. They took a nice quiet neighborhood and turned it to an unsafe, chaotic shithole.

Why wasn't the white woman who started the fight and started yelling obscenities at these children arrested?

This is a lie you keep telling yourself. For some reason, the other two police officers did just fine without resorting to violence, screaming, or pulling their weapon. What is the criminal penal code for talking smack to a police officer?
