Wrong! Many are virtual.

Virtual the same as closed. We learned this during Covid

Except that your kids still have to log on and do work or are penalized.

But then they have to pay attention to them because the nanny is snowed in.

Go away. This isn’t your forum.

Oh, but it is. I'm just a relatively poor rich person that wasn't raised with money, gets my own groceries, mows my own lawn and yes shovels my own snow and ice. I also live with the values of empathy and understanding that my children's $60k a year school professes to teach.

PP hasn't been out their shoveling this mess of ice and has no idea how much sustainwd backbreaking work it entails. They deserve all the contempt and scorn that has been thrown their way and they are an embarrassment to whichever school their children attend.

If you are really that out of shape that you can’t handle a little shoveling for snow and ice removal, you are the embarrassment. Backbreaking work? Not for anyone who takes care of themself. Take the hint and start exercising.

DP. I'm at the gym minimum 5x a week and lift heavy (for a woman). I'm in pretty good shape. I just spent 30 minutes pickaxing my 2-3 in sheet of ice and got through at most a third of the walkway. I'm completely exhausted and now it's dark out. I'll be back at it again tomorrow morning, but this is not easy work.

And before anyone accuses me of failing to use proper technique, I followed capital weather gang's exact shoveling advice and shoveled multiple times during the storm. I ended up with a sheet of ice bonded to the pavement.

That was your mistake. Should have left it till Monday mid-morning.

Sidwell closed Wednesday. Ugh. This is getting old.

Stone Ridge is closed for Thursday.

Visi and Gonzaga virtual, synchronous learning tomorrow and Thursday. From what I can tell, other then tests, they still have plenty of work to do.

DMV is really failing the residents. NYC is much bigger city and their schools are closed for one day.

You don’t understand the difference between a giant suburban county and a city where everyone gets around on subways underground?

DC, not Maryland, the city, is not much worse than NYC, It also has metro.

I’ll remember that next time we have unprecedented ice storms.

NYC has more equipment and experience since they receive snow more frequently than we do. Why would area governments invest in equipment they infrequently use?

Huge fail on all area private schools in not opening tomorrow.

Do these private schools even make up for snow days?

NYC has hefty fines for homeowners and businesses who do not shovel, plus the homefronts and storefronts are mostly SMALL areas compred to here. Much easier to shovel than homes in a suburban area. DC is nothing like NYC.

My fitness club opened normally today, Tuesday. Also went to two restaurants today. No idea why schools aren’t opening. Everyone else is back to work.

Our school has 4 classes for 15 mins each. Pointless.
