My kids are in private, so yes I do care. |
| They’ll cancel Monday too. |
My kid's school switched to virtual. |
|
This whole episode has exposed private schools as a big racket. Who TF in their right mind pays tens of thousands of dollars for a school that closes ALL week just bc of snow?? It’s not even a blizzard. It was 8 inches. BFD.
They just use anything as an excuse to close and not work. Meanwhile, almost every other private entity was open. |
So then pull them out if you think it isn’t worth it. |
My kids private has been open everyday this week |
Even Monday? |
|
Bs. Which one? Why the secrecy? Homeschool Day? |
No one is stopping you from withdrawing your kid from the school. |
|
I think as the week went on decisions depended on how well the area near the school cleared the snow and ice (by the city or county). Not just the school facilities/ maintenance teams work on the school property itself, but the surrounding roads, sidewalks, curb cuts, etc, as this would most likely be a factor for safety and access purposes.
I think several schools went virtual, but not all parents are supportive of virtual days and would rather their kids play in the snow. |
You’re shouting at clouds. What private school has been closed all week? |
Our parochial school is only opening tomorrow with a two hour delayed opening. The roads are finally clear enough to accommodate this but it definitely wasn’t possible earlier in the week. It hasn’t been the easiest week by any stretch of the imagination but I agree that it was the right call. This is the worse snow and ice I’ve ever seen in my 41 years of life. I’m still recovering from the 6 hours it took me to haul all of the ice out of my driveway. |
Sounds like you’re happy then. So I still don’t see the basis for PP’s post. |
| It kills me that we have a 36-page thread with a misspelled word in the title. And the title has only two words. |
