OMG you could not be more wrong. My house is chock full of antiques and estate sale finds and stuff that belonged to my parents and grandparents. I’m the one pointing out way above that people younger than me do NOT like that vibe and the people who do are a smaller and smaller chunk of the market. And of course it’s fine to have an opinion and express it but you have to admit a huge amount of the Cracker Barrel discourse is about culture and politics and wokeness and other BS. That’s what’s ridiculous. Sometimes a logo is just a logo. |
PP here. Glad you love antiques and your parents' and grandparents' things. I'm the same! ![]() |
The fact that this happened on Trump's watch proves to me that this wasn't about "woke" or "DEI" or any of the other crap that some on the right are yammering about.
That's never what it was about in the first place. It was about the minimalising, the corporate enshittification of everything that many companies are engaging in. Many other food chains went minimalistic with their logos, branding and decor starting about a decade or more ago. But everyone has since decided it was horrible and most companies dialed it back. Cracker Barrel for some stupid reason came in to that party 10 years late after everyone was already in full on hate mode for that kind of minimalism. It's that simple. Not politics, just dumb corporate enshittification. |
Totally agree. It's a road trip staple for our family. |

You poor soul. Apparently it's beyond your comprehension that one can eat at and enjoy a wide variety of places, to include all of the ones you listed. But you left out Vietnamese and Cuban, among others. Sorry you have such anger issues. |

Yep. I find this hilarious considering the long, LONG list of brands Democrats have boycotted, often because they simply didn't like the logo/mascot. These people are nothing if not complete hypocrites. |
DP. So you said the same thing about the Aunt Jemima and Land o'Lakes logos? |
Cracker barrel is vanilla and plain so is the CEO and likewise the logo redesign. It all fits. |
Cracker Barrel was old when it started in 1969, with vibes from 50 years earlier. |
